•Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
•Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
•Stock/medicine management and re-stock
•Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
•Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
•Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
•Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
•Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
•Taking part in innovative health care provision via Point of Care Testing
•Maintaining medical records and undertaking administration
•Responsible for undertaking training and maintaining own continuous professional development
•Achieving new skills in order to expand responsibilities as required and in accordance to changing patient and practice demands.

We are a Brighton & Sussex University Trust Hospitals satellite unit based at the Hove Polyclinic. We are looking for 2 enthusiastic experienced Health Care Assistants Band 2 to join our progressive general outpatients department. However sometimes there is the need and the opportunity to help other departments therefore flexibility is required.

We are offering 30 hours per week part-time permanent position. The post holder will preferably have phlebotomy skills however this is not a requirement. Full training and support will be provided.

The department houses respiratory medicine, neurology, cardiology, rheumatology, digestive diseases and ophthalmology. In addition we also house a day care and minor theatre for the treatment of chronic pain .

We are a busy innovative practice working across 2 sites with a patient population of 7000 and we are looking for a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly team.This position is part-time hours (up to 24 hrs p/week) to be undertaken flexibly between 2-4 days and so would be suitable for a parent of school age children.

Our practice requires a qualified HCA to undertake general HCA duties including venepuncture (essential), immunisations, ear irrigation, health promotion, wound management, long-term condition management (see job description for more details). Some previous experience is required, although on-the-job training will be provided to increase skills for the right candidate. Agreed salary will reflect the current skills and experience.

Trained in phlebotomy required.

An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Health Care Assistants to work in the community. The post holder will support the District Nurse in delivering an efficient and high quality nursing service using evidence based practice to a wide range of patients within the locality.
