Commercial Gas Engineer is required in Maidstone to cover the South East Region specifically Kent. You will be looking after commercial building maintenance which will include Schools, Hospitals and Prisons.

The role will be working for a Regional Contractor who also has a maintenance arm within the business, The Company have a number of new contracts which has helped with the growth of the business and resulting in a positive hire to extend their team.

The ideal candidate will have Commercial gas qualifications and will be expected to carry out the following duties…

  • Service and repairs to plumbing and heating systems, ranging from large commercial boilers to minor plumbing works
  • Be able to work independently as well as a good team player
  • Be able to adapt to working in a Schools, Hospitals & commercial building

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • * Relevant ACS domestic gas certificates - CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 etc.
  • * Must have proven background as a Commercial gas engineer
  • * Strong boiler service and breakdown experience.
  • * Gas safe.

THE ROLE

Are you based in or around the Essex area and are looking for a new and exciting challenge with a well-established Company!

Reporting directly to the Technical Customer Services Manager, you will work closely with the Exeter based Service team. Your primary responsibility will be the completion of warranty service work for Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel heating appliances. The role will include diagnosing faults and repairing appliances in a timely and cost effective manner.

During off peak periods, the role will also include carrying out the maintenance of Gazco and Stovax appliances within dealer’s showrooms and completing chargeable annual servicing for our customers. Although the role will cover a pre-determined area, travel to most areas of the UK will be necessary and will involve being away from home for up to 4 nights each week. The role will provide a fully equipped van, laptop/iPad and phone.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of working with heating appliances or servicing comparable equipment in the field. You will be an excellent communicator, proactive and naturally customer focussed. The successful candidate will be required to have and maintain the following training certificates:

  • CCN1 (Domestic Core Gas Safety), HTR1 (Gas Fires & Wall Heaters), CONGLP1 (LPG Changeover)
  • CPA1 – Combustion Analysis
  • GAS SAFE requirements (OFTEC also an advantage)

The following qualifications whilst not essential, would be an advantage:

  • Part P Electrical Safety
  • Electrical Safe Isolation
  • HETAS Certification
  • Hetas H002 (Solid fuel regulations and Standards)
  • Hetas H003 (Dry Appliance Installer)
  • Hetas H004 (Wet Appliance installer)
  • Hetas H006 (Internal twin wall chimney system installer)

Cleaning of fans in patient areas, wheel chairs.

Where applicable, assist nursing staff with lifting and movement of patients from wards, theatres, and outpatients.

Undertake a range of cleaning duties to include operating electrical floor cleaning equipment, steam cleaning equipment in line with the national cleaning specification.

To ensure all grounds, car parks and gardens are clean and tidy. In extreme weather salt/grit paths and car parks.

Support new members of staff to be familiar with local environment, policies and procedures.

Identify any issues with the fabric of the property including undertaking minor tasks, ie. replacing broken fixtures and fittings.

Job Description

Reporting into the Regional Business Manager, you will work as part of a team of Mobile Refrigeration Engineers covering an area across Kent. The focus will be the Maintenance and Repair of Thermo King Refrigeration equipment used on large distribution vehicles. Our customers are even busier than ever before, so providing high levels of customer care our paramount for the success of our business as well as all of our employees. The role duties include:

  • Installation, servicing and repair of vehicle powered road transport refrigeration units, limiting costs of stock used on contract accounts and maximising revenue generation in all areas.
  • Optimise and maintain engineer van stock to maintain and enhance service delivery to MFS customers.
  • Ensure relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van on a daily basis.
  •  Maintain product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9002 standards at all times. Undertaking company training (at our dedicated training centre in Aldridge, Birmingham) and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process.
  • To liaise with central control and/or the service centre with regard to job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisation; cost updates and customer purchase orders.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and on-line (PDA) requirements enabling central control and invoicing to maintain a high standard of customer interface – keeping the customer informed.
  • Assist with planning of installations and undertake installations and commissioning.
  •  Perform other duties and projects which correspond to the general character of the position.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, Health & safety procedures and ISO9002 standards.
  • Apprentices and or engineers in training (EIT) may be supervised where applicable.
  • Ensure customer service is a priority and conduct & corporate image (self, van, tools, spares) are first rate
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold their F-Gas qualification and have a relevant C&G or equivalent within an Engineering discipline. Experience of Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or Commercial Engineering is required as well as high levels of customer care and attention. You will be happy to undertake extensive training on Thermo King equivalent, any prior knowledge would be an advantage.

My client, a nationally recognised recycling firm, is recruiting for an engine service technician for their landfill gas and anaerobic digestion site, based in South Ockendon, Essex.

Commercial Gas Engineer

Work is in and around Kent

Salary is up to £42,000 + a van

Commercial Gas Engineer is required in Maidstone to cover the South East Region specifically Kent. You will be looking after commercial building maintenance which will include Schools, Hospitals and Prisons.

The role will be working for a Regional Contractor who also has a maintenance arm within the business, The Company have a number of new contracts which has helped with the growth of the business and resulting in a positive hire to extend their team.

The ideal candidate will have Commercial gas qualifications and will be expected to carry out the following duties…

  • Service and repairs to plumbing and heating systems, ranging from large commercial boilers to minor plumbing works
  • Be able to work independently as well as a good team player
  • Be able to adapt to working in a Schools, Hospitals & commercial building

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • * Relevant ACS domestic gas certificates - CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 etc.
  • * Must have proven background as a Commercial gas engineer
  • * Strong boiler service and breakdown experience.
  • * Gas safe.
