This work stream specialises in delivering passive fire protection & fire stopping services within domestic dwellings and public buildings. You will work on contracts/projects that could be based in Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London, therefore we are looking for someone who is flexible to travel. Please note you would not be expected to travel between these locations daily, the work is planned and based in one location for a set period.

As a Carpenter you will be collaborating with a team and working with the public, whilst taking pride in delivering quality workmanship and making a difference in people's homes.

 The Carpenter role:

  • Undertake planned maintenance and second fix carpentry work primarily within residential properties located within the South East, but also, on occasion to include public, educational and commercial settings too
  • Completion of passive fire protection works including installation of fire door/door set replacements, fire stopping to service penetrations and remedial works to specified standards
  • The tasks will include but are not limited to, rehanging, or replacing doors/fire doors/door sets and fitting intumescent fire strips, door closers and general blocking up of voids with fireproof material
  • You will be required to assess and review any additional 2nd fix, refurbishment works that may be required, within this work stream

What will you bring as a Carpenter?

  • Qualified to an NVQ 2 level in Carpentry, or similar professional body would be preferred
  • We’ll provide you with full training to become 3rd party accredited but previous experience in passive fire protection works would you give you an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong commitment are a must
  • Possession of a full current UK Driving licence with access to your own vehicle, which is essential to undertake the Carpenter role, with the entitlement to claim daily travel and fare allowance as per the working rule agreement.
