At Duco, we like to treat people a little differently.  That’s why our Glassdoor feedback shows 85% of our employees would recommend us as an employer and 92% approve of the CEO.   So instead of this advert listing multiple requirements and hoops you must jump through even to get an interview with us, we’ll focus instead on what we can offer you. An employer which puts people first:   Our culture is warm, vibrant and welcoming, and we actively look after everyone’s wellbeing. We believe diversity and inclusion aren’t an option but a commitment we’re proud to make.  We believe in communicating honestly and openly, whether the news is good or bad, and in giving trust and support.  We love exploring new ideas, trying out different things and asking questions.    A growing company with a bright future:  At Duco, we help companies solve complex data problems with our uniquely fast and easy-to-use software. Our customers are some of the world’s top financial institutions, we’re backed by some of the best tech investors, and we’re growing fast, even in the current recession.   An exciting role with huge potential:  We are looking for a Data Scientist to help evolve our machine learning offering and improve its scalability and accuracy.  We’re building a machine-learning-enabled company, and every major initiative is increasingly dependent on its successful application.  Duco’s Edinburgh team is at the nexus of this evolution, so we’re looking for someone who is excited about working at the intersection of machine learning and product. To succeed in the role, you will have a strong scientific background in statistics, machine learning and/or programming. The focus initially will be on identifying the most effective way to leverage machine learning within data reconciliation, matching and self-service data normalisation pioneered by Duco. Please note: We review all applications with genuine interest, and we're happy to support people in developing their full potential.  We’re not necessarily looking for ‘the perfect candidate’ with vast experience, gold medals and superpowers, so apply even if you don’t have all the above!  A final note about COVID19... Since 09 March 2020 we have been helping to keep everyone safe by switching to remote working. Interviews will therefore be through video-conferencing and new joiners are on boarded remotely.
