Our client is part of an established Group that specialise in the provision of bespoke materials handling solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. Reporting to the Service Manager and based out of the production facility near Kettering, Northampton, the successful Field Service Engineer candidate will undertake a broad range of both reactive and PPM activities on a range of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and will thrive within a customer facing environment in which the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.
After an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a planned preventative and reactive basis at customer premises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, in full response to customer's requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.
Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst possibly being time restrained in carrying out that task.
It is envisaged that the successful Field Service Engineer will currently be working in a similar Plant and Equipment arena, highly probably within a maintenance environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.

Our client is recognized as one of the UK's market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit a multi discipline, electrically biased shift maintenance engineer to complement their established and successful team.
The site (based near to Gravesend in Northfleet) operates on a 24/7 basis and the role itself is a 6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6 shift basis with one weekend in four operating on a 12 hr nights basis (26 weekends in a year worked and every 4th week off), and with the company priding itself on the high quality service it provides to it's customers across the country, it is essential that they now recruit a similarly committed and highly professional multi skilled electrically biased maintenance engineer to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards and the systems meet the required demands.
Reporting to the Site Support Manager and working as part of a team of 5 engineers, core responsibilities for this electrically biased shift maintenance position will include:
  • Conducting reactive and PPM maintenance on automated cranes and chain and roller conveyor systems
  • Monitoring the operation and ensuring stoppages are dealt with promptly
  • Assisting the site manager with any safety issues which may arise
  • Using the computerised GUI system to monitor site activity
  • Advising customers of any stock related issues
  • Promoting any enhancements or additions required via correct channels
  • Provide cover alongside other team members for holidays and sickness

  • Actively perform UK Field Service Metrology activities (50-80%) under the supervision of the head of the IES metrology laboratory in the UK

      • Ensure on-time Calibration of reference equipment

      • Maintain relationships with calibration providers

  • Support IES Quality in the UK (20-50%) in collaboration with the Regional Quality manager

    • Support the development and maintenance of the ISO17025 and ISO9001 QMS

    • Maintain and update as required ISO17025 and ISO9001 Quality System documentation.

    • Support Internal & External audits of ISO17025 and ISO9001 activities

    • Support the treatment audit findings and non-conformances

    • Support answering customer quality enquiries

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Higher education qualification(s) or equivalent technical job experience (5 years plus) with qualifications and/or experience including instrumentation.

  • Previous experience in a role supporting quality; exposure to ISO9001, ISO17025 or ISO13485 quality management systems

  • Process/software/instrument Validation expertise is an asset

  • Previous experience in the deployment and support of projects / process improvement

  • Occasional travel in UK, international traveling may be required

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities

  • Excellent inter-personal, self-motivational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels, functions and regions

Concorde Technology Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Field Maintenance Engineer to join our team based both remotely and at customer sites in South Wales and surrounding Areas. The successful candidate will be required to work in the field as part of a team and as a lone worker with an ability to demonstrate outstanding communication and customer facing skills. They will be required to work within strict customer driven SLAs and must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar IT maintenance position role. The package will be based on the experience of the individual but will include a company issued vehicle or car allowance option included within the salary.

 

Working Environment

Working at a  range of customer sites located primarily in the south wales but on occasion you may be expected to travel further afield.

The post holder will work an 7.5-hour day time pattern Monday through Friday with an hour lunch break, this role also requires you to provide cover on an out of hours on call rota.

 

Main Duties:

  • Responding to service calls on client sites.
  • Resolve complex technical faults maintaining regular communication with the company.
  • Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance as and when requested ensuring that full activity records are documented.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of company products, services and solutions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SLA when dealing with customer tickets/calls.

 

Qualifications and Skills

A good understanding of the English language, both spoken and written. The successful candidate must be articulate and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Formal recognised Computer and ICT qualifications and experience of Alpha, Dell and HP servers an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant experience from a similar Engineering role. Vendor accreditations from HP, Lenovo and Dell would be advantageous.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required.
  • Printer repair and an understanding of mechanical print process is essential.
  • Printer driver and connectivity- local & network experience is required.
  • PC hardware/software experience required. 
  • Server Hardware experience required.
  • Excellent customer service & client interfacing skills essential.
  • Knowledge of the following types of printers - Hewlett Packard, Sharp, Xerox and Kyocera, Canon, Printek, Oki, and Tally would be an advantage. Software basic skills would also be an advantage

This position will provide territory management for Technical Service covering UK. The successful Field Service Engineer (FSE) will be appointed a dedicated territory, however cross territory support will be required from time to time.   • Carry out drawing and designing with AutoCAD, and when needed updating the schematics, layouts, topology drawings and other associated details
About you:
  • Qualified to degree level in relevant discipline (Engineering) or equivalent experience 
  • Be able to demonstrate related work experience and a strong track record in similar role
  • Be able to build a good customer relationship, and a strong collaboration
  • Experienced user of the following: KNX, DALI Control and Tridium 
  • Knowledge of LON, C-Bus, ModBUS, Niagara AX, PME, PSO  and StruxturWare would be desirable but not essential

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years as a Field Service/ Maintenance Engineer – repairing, maintaining, servicing and calibrating laboratory equipment which could include systems in Proteomics, Multiplex, Immunotherapies/ immunotherapy, protein expression, Cell Culture, Cancer Immunology, Cell & Gene Therapy, Lab-On-Chip, Laboratory Automation/ Robotic or High Throughput Screening
  • Hold a degree / diploma in an Engineering related subject (i.e. HNC, HND etc)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meeting short-notice deadlines, with daily reprioritisation of work
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems and proficient in PC software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), able to run basic technical software presentations
  • Must hold a valid EU driving licence

The Role:
  • Support customers, vendors, and business partners on the service, maintenance, calibration and repair of instruments in the Proteomics, Immuno Therapy, Cell Culture, Protein Expression and Lab-On-Chip area
  • First line issue handling, diagnosis and communication with customers primarily for laboratory Lab-on-Chip devices and for the laboratory systems
  • Communication and resolution of issues with other departments/teams while maintaining ownership
  • Issue resolution both via back office support (telephone, email, remote connection) and customer site visits within defined service level agreements
  • Actively pursue tasks/projects, and ways to enhance your team and the business beyond your day to day responsibilities

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Northamptonshire base - UK and International Coverage - Commutable from Northampton, Corby and Kettering

Our client is part of an established Group that specialise in the provision of bespoke materials handling solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic and multi skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional engineering service team supporting customers at locations throughout the UK and Internationally as required.

Reporting to the Service Manager and based out of the production facility near Kettering, Northampton, the successful Field Service Engineer candidate will undertake a broad range of both reactive and PPM activities on a range of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and will thrive within a customer facing environment in which the highest levels of quality customer service and satisfaction are of paramount importance.

After an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a planned preventative and reactive basis at customer premises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer's site equipment and other manufacturer's products and systems, in full response to customer's requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.

Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst possibly being time restrained in carrying out that task.

It is envisaged that the successful Field Service Engineer will currently be working in a similar Plant and Equipment arena, highly probably within a maintenance environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.
