As well as our live events division, Festival of The Dead also has a thriving digital community of fans, artists, influencers and content creators which reaches a global audience of upwards of 50 million people each month.
About the role
The successful candidate will work across the entirety of the business to grow its event and social media presence. The main responsibilities will be working with a team to plan and run live events and festivals across the world, working closely on digital and social media strategy as well as working to drive sales and brand growth. 

Two days are rarely the same, one day you could be researching potential event ideas and locations and the next, meeting with influencers for an upcoming social media campaign.

This position will require occasional weekend work when running events and international travel.

DESCRIPTION:

Our client produces exciting conferences, forums, briefings, and workshops on public policy topics, and diverse, timely private sector forums and events. Themes covered range from Knife Crime, Mental Health in Schools, and Employability in Scotland, to Artificial Intelligence, Diversity in TV, and Women Mean Business.

Due to continued success the company is seeking a Conference Producer. The successful candidate will be producing a really exciting mix of topics, in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment. The company will produce over a hundred events in 2021 and are currently delivering events via a live broadcast medium.

This is a dynamic role, in a lively environment. The successful candidate will be creative, enjoy a diverse role with many tasks to juggle, be good at researching and resourceful, and happy to use their own initiative and to take responsibility for projects.

Key Objectives:

The main purpose of the role is to research and develop around 16-20 viable events (chiefly one day conferences, half day forums, and half day workshops) for delegates across public, private, and voluntary sectors.

In addition to researching and producing viable events, you will develop marketing and sponsorship plans, in conjunction with the relevant executives, and oversee the speaker’s budget. The role also involves actively seeking new and viable conference ideas, and partnership/ sponsorship opportunities.

It’s imperative that events are viable, of excellent quality, and produced to strict deadlines, to ensure the commerciality of events.

Main Responsibilities:

•Project management from inception to programme sign off, and delivery of key targets/ deadlines for each conference / event.
•Design and writing of the conference / event programme from start to finish.
•Thorough research, undertaken through the completion of a conference brief.
•Desk research and in-depth telephone research, to ensure viability of programmes, and to maximise each topic, and inputting research information onto the database.
•Research, selection of and liaison with senior-level speakers, to ensure the most appropriate and appealing line up of speakers on events.
•Writing copy for marketing materials and website.
•Desk, telephone and face-to-face research with industry contacts to develop new conference/ event topics.
•Identification of audience, commercial partners and sponsors.
•Close collaboration with marketing, sponsorship sales, and logistics teams to ensure commercial success
•Communicating key conference / event updates to the wider team and senior management
•On-going industry research to identify key trends, competitor events, new topics and alternative revenue streams.
•Working to strict deadlines and working in cycles, juggling projects.
•To liaise with speakers in the lead up to events, ensuring that programmes remain intact.
•Acting as main contact for speakers on the day of the conference.
•Dealing with speakers post event and ensuring all their details are up to date on the database.

Previous Experience and Knowledge:

•1-3 years conference production experience
•Excellent research skills and proof of experience.
•Working to tight deadlines.
•Experience of using negotiating and influencing skills.
•Experience of writing copy.
•A good understanding of/ experience of the public sector and issues.
•Customer services experience.
•Experience of project management.
•A good level of IT competence.

Marketing & Events Specialist Job Role
  • Work closely with DWP ESF Policy to ensure that ESF marketing and PR activities are co-ordinated, to achieve complementary timing of activity and consistency of message.
  • Creating a clear marketing plan for the project and ensure compliance with ESF requirements.
  • Organise events in support of project activities.
  • Managing the marketing budget.
  • Developing marketing materials to promote the ESF project and its elements.
  • Producing press releases as required.
  • Ensure Partner Organisations are aware of publicity and promotion requirements. 
  • Working with the Herefordshire Skills for the Future project team to deliver collateral as and when required.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Event Organiser)

Cheeki Monkeys are recruiting event organisers for a varied role within our already successful team.

 

As a Cheeki Monkeys event organiser, your tasks will involve:

 

  • Sourcing venues to hold our events
  • Uploading upcoming event dates to free event listing websites and parent forums
  • Promoting our Nearly New Baby Sales via Social Media platforms
  • Building relationships with family orientated business
  • Overseeing event days; venue setup/directing stallholders to their allocated pitches etc.

 

Most of your work will involve marketing your events online (using Facebook etc.). This role is suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, NO EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED as Cheeki Monkeys will provide you with all of the knowledge that you require to be a successful event organiser within our organisation. Our mentoring techniques are valued highly by our existing team of event organisers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic computer skills and access to the internet
  • Access to Microsoft Office to be able to open documents in MS Word & Excel
  • An interest in planning and coordinating community events
  • You should be an individual who enjoys being part of a team
  • You should be a people person, willing to make new friends
  • You should have the ability to create relationships with people from all walks of life
  • You should possess a good command of both verbal and written English

 

Being helpful, friendly and welcoming are the most essential attributes required to succeed as an event organiser.

We have a diverse portfolio of events including international festivals, live tours & conventions, all focused around dark and alternative subculture.

As well as our live events division, Festival of The Dead also has a thriving digital community of fans, artists, influencers and content creators which reaches a global audience of upwards of 50 million people each month.

About the role

The successful candidate will work across the entirety of the business to grow its event and social media presence. The main responsibilities will be working with a team to plan and run live events and festivals across the world, working closely on digital and social media strategy as well as working to drive sales and brand growth. 

Two days are rarely the same, one day you could be researching potential event ideas and locations and the next, meeting with influencers for an upcoming social media campaign.

This position will require occasional weekend work when running events and international travel.

A successful candidate will have...

An understanding of the delivery of a range of events
A strong understanding of social media (Facebook, Insta, TikTok, and Twitter)
A proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
A proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Fast and accurate data entry and research skills
Great people skills

RequiredExperience

1+ year in an events assistant/management role
1+ years sales/marketing experience
Experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
Computer literate and a good knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets
