What is the role
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver our goals and shape the future of the function. Developing our people and creating future plans will be critical to this role.
As a key member of the Distributed Energy SHE team, you'll be responsible for ensuring a pragmatic glide path to achieve our sustainability goals by 2030 is produced, implemented and monitored. You'll be pivotal in making sure that a strong foundation is put in place for Distributed Energy and is aligned to SSE Group Sustainability journey.
In addition to the above, you'll be a key stakeholder to our projects teams ensuring all Environment/Sustainability risks are identified and managed throughout all phases of development, construction and asset operation.
What do I need
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally hold a minimum relevant /diploma/degree in Environment Science. In addition to:
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of Environmental Legislative and licencing Requirements
- Experience in the development and implementation of programmes/plans
- Experience in managing budgets, and implementing appropriate controls
- An ability of leading, managing and developing a team
- Proven experience of engaging effectively with regulators in environmental matters and licensing requirements
- Demonstrable ability to work across and build effective relationships with all key stakeholders across NTS functions, suppliers, regulators and UK & ROI Government organisations
- Track record of developing and improving processes, and driving performance
Due to the nature of this role, a Full Driving Licence is required.

The role:

YOUR ROLE
As Project Engineer your primary role will be the effective management of the interface between the design, commercial (procurement particularly) and delivery functions of the project to ensure time, cost and quality targets are achieved. You will also act as the primary interface with the project site team, providing assistance and accurate information in a timely fashion, checking that all on site activities are aligned with the project requirements, installed correctly, and verifying that systems work as they should.
