What we're looking for:
You're a software development engineer with some experience working on security issues and architecture. We'd like you to partner with our internal customers as they look to build secure design and functionality into their work.
Whilst you are driven by good security design, you thrive on delivering an outstanding cyber security experience by working in tandem with developer teams to reduce design friction. We hope you'll also be passionate about contributing to the success of programs, technologies, and your organisation, constantly seeking opportunities to support innovative new ways of working.
Position Overview:
Our Global Security Organisation (GSO) covers a range of areas from network/firewall security through to endpoint management and security research.
Are you curious about how technology works and can be secured against compromise? Can you work closely with teams as they build solutions that balance developers requirements with information and cyber security requirements? If you can bring a hands-on approach to secure design and development, we'd love to hear from you!
What you'll be doing:
We'd like you to be able to recognise and drive alignment to standards, frameworks and security policies with Citrix business and technology strategies.
Build an understanding and awareness of current and emerging security threats to our internal customers.
As a natural problem solver you'll need little guidance in leading sophisticated analysis to isolate problems of moderate to high complexity.
Cultivate relationships with technical teams, especially in the software development/product engineering support space (SES), in order to assure the implementation of Citrix security standards.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
General skills include:
Outstanding communication skills with diverse audiences - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, able to lead difficult conversations.
Hands-on knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle, security architecture design methods as well security policy frameworks (CIS/NIST etc).
Proven ability to identify risks associated with information security programs and technology projects and able to offer credible mitigations and design alternatives.
Able to be the security SME who can explain developer focused challenges to those without a software development background.
Ideally some experience in:
Security architecture, demonstrating solutions delivery as well as understanding/researching emerging technologies and security approaches in your chosen field of expertise.
Designing and implementing security solutions which meet or exceed the requirements by other parts of the business (Global Security Assurance team) as well as external security frameworks (CIS/NIST etc).
Advising, mentoring and engineering in the development and design of security standard methodologies and implementation of solid security principles across the organisation.
Familiarity with:
Network security architecture principle such as network zoning and segmentation as well as Software Defined networking solutions such as SD-WAN.
The delivery of virtual applications and desktops (especially for use by software developers).
An understanding of typical on premise compute/storage infrastructure and the associated security controls used to protect this non-cloud infrastructure.
Zero trust principles especially in a software development environment.
