Role
The company is now looking for an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a foundry / machine shop environment to work a 38-hour 2 shift work pattern (rotating) of 5 mornings (6am to 2pm) 5 afternoons )2pm to 10pm)
If production demands changed this could in future change to 3 shifts to include 4 nights (10pm to 6am)
The factory is predominantly a Foundry / Extrusions and Machining site specialising in the production of specialised alloys using Gas Fired Melting Furnaces and Billet / Ingot Casting Machines but also has a number of Machine Shops with Lathes and Milling Machines etc., Extrusion Press departments with Billet Handling equipment, Conveyors, Saws, Heat Treatment Ovens as well as lifting equipment /overhead cranes and also some Specialised Testing Laboratories.

My client are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician on a mobile basis covering the North West area (Predominantly Greater Manchester). This is a temporary role initially with the view to going permanent working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary with necessary training also provided. We have an electrical maintenance technician post available within our award-winning Capital Investment and Estates Services Directorate.
Our electrical maintenance technicians provide vital day-to-day estate maintenance to ensure our staff can continue to provide the best care to our patients and service users.
We have a wide range of services across our localities so each day will be different and busy but rewarding. You will support the maintenance supervisor to ensure that our wards and departments receive responsive support for logged calls; ensure ongoing compliance; work with other trade contractors and attend to emergency repairs.
You will have previous maintenance experience, ideally with knowledge of NHS estates and associated equipment although not essential. You will be reliable and committed, with great people skills. You will be willing to work flexible hours and to participate in on-call duties out of normal working hours to attend to emergency repairs.

This consists of an annual pay of £21,892 to 24,157 plus an additional recruitment retention premium of £3,200. The post holder’s main duties will be to:
Support the Head of Estates in the delivery of safe Electrical/Mechanical services across Trust buildings and the safe management of all electrical and engineering related services ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures;
Support the development and implementation of local plans for the Estates function, ensuring that services are offered to the highest standard, run smoothly, efficiently and economically in a way which meets all regulatory and healthcare requirements;
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all estates buildings, plant, equipment and services; including statutory inspections, operation of permit to work systems and other safe systems of work and to ensure the Trust meets its duties for statutory compliance;

Be responsible for the planned and responsive maintenance systems and ensuring the same are kept up to date by the use of manual and computerised systems.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a similar estates operational role would be an advantage, as would previous NHS experience.
You must have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours including over time and call outs as workload demands.
