The Child Health Care Group is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our Specialty Admin Team in the role of Patient Pathway Coordinator. This role is based in the Child Health department at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

Our Child Health Patient Pathway Coordinators operate Monday-Friday covering core office hours of between 8am-5pm. Job responsibilities

  • Implement all administrative processes along the patient pathway to ensure the patients journey is managed efficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales.

  • Utilise computerised tracking systems to locate case notes and investigation results.

A position has arisen for a Patient Pathway Coordinator at the Princess Ann Hospital, to support the administrative work for the Fetal Medicine service within Women & Newborn.

This is an area of high activity. Good communication, organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your workload are essential for this role. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a medical secretary within Cellular Pathology at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). We have opportunities for a full-time (37.5 hours p/w) position on a fixed term basis for 12 months, as well as a part-time (22.5 hours p/w) position, on a permanent basis. The department is integrated with the University of Southampton's department of pathology which has a major role in medical student education and has active research programs in both applied and basic experimental pathology. Approximately 45,000 Histology specimens and 3,000 diagnostic Cytology samples are currently received and processed annually.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake secretarial duties for Consultants in the department and the supporting teams.

You will provide transcription from audio-recordings and long-hand clinical biopsy reports/post mortem reports into the laboratory information system & support departmental correspondence.

You will be involved in the retrieval of microscopic slides and reports for surgical review meetings.

You will interpret and deal with confidential telephone enquiries.
