The Pharmacy Department at the RD&E is looking for an enthusiastic member of staff be part of our Homecare Admin Team. This is an administrative role, and will primarily involve invoicing and prescription processing for the Homecare Service. This is not a patient facing role.

You should be flexible, adaptable and able to use your own initiative. It is essential that you are highly motivated and organised. A methodical approach and attention to detail are key to this role. Excellent communication skills are necessary to deal with a variety of healthcare professionals and external Homecare Service providers.

You should have administrative experience and IT skills, in particular Word and Excel. You will work closely with the Lead Homecare Technician and the Specilaist Pharmacist – High Cost drugs.

Hours: 37.5 Hours (part time hours will be considered)

Main duties of the job

The practice manager is a key member of the team and will be expected to demonstrate leadership qualities, achieving goals and targets using a combination of personal involvement, motivation of other staff and delegation when appropriate.

You will be proactive and plan for the future, maximising the practices potential in relation to business, finance and premises, whilst maintaining patient care. There is a need to ensure the partners are kept fully informed of local and national proposals and initiatives, presented clearly and concisely to enable them to make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

Finance

  • Responsible for the finances of the practice

o Ensuring the organisational requirements of the practice contracts with NHSE are fully met and complied with

o Supporting the Partners to develop and implement processes to achieve clinical targets of QOF and enhanced services

    • Directly contributing to profit improvement by exploring areas for increasing income and reducing costs.
    • Analysing data relating to clinical commissioning as appropriate and contributing to planning and organisation, both at the practice and clinical commissioning group level

o Development and control practice of budgets and financial systems

o Preparation of financial budgets and cash-flow forecasts

o Liaising with accountant, bank and business insurance companies as appropriate or as directed by the Partners

o Liaising with the CCG and payment agencies regarding queries with payments relating to the contract, e.g. enhanced services.

Strategic Planning

We are looking for Bank Drivers / Operations assistants across multiple sites in Somerset.

The non-clinical role requires you to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team speaking to patients, carers and healthcare professionals who require urgent healthcare advice and support during the out of hours period. Role involves:

Administration / receptionist-type duties, such as booking patients in on the computer system

Liaising with our Clinical Assessment Centre, Doctors and Nurses to ensure the smooth running of the service

Driving company vehicles to transport GPs and equipment to patients' homes

Checking drugs stock

You are required to have excellent logistical and organisational skills in order to ensure the co-ordination of workload within the Locality.

Candidates must be flexible and able to travel to the place of work during the Evenings and weekends.

About the role:

Hours: Flexible- bank hours mean you can pick up shifts when you chose from whats available in the county, our working hours are weekday evenings, overnights and weekends.

Location- Devon Wide, we have 10 treatment centres across Devon. We are looking for Driver/OAs to work from either Torbay/Newton Abbot/Totnes (South), Plymouth (West), Exeter, Honiton, Tiverton (East), or Okehampton/Barnstaple (North). (Candidates must be flexible and able to travel to the place of work during the evenings and weekends).

Pay- This role attracts a base hourly rate of £8.82 and you will also receive the following enhancements:

£0.55 per hour for hours worked weekdays between 18.00 and 23.00 hours

£1.20 per hour for hours worked between 23.00 and 08.00 hours and weekends

What does the role involve?

The Pharmacy Department at the RD&E is looking for an enthusiastic member of staff be part of our Homecare Admin Team. This is an administrative role, and will primarily involve invoicing and prescription processing for the Homecare Service. This is not a patient facing role.

You should be flexible, adaptable and able to use your own initiative. It is essential that you are highly motivated and organised. A methodical approach and attention to detail are key to this role. Excellent communication skills are necessary to deal with a variety of healthcare professionals and external Homecare Service providers.
