THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Economic Policy Executive to join the busy Industry Growth team, at the representative body of the UK’s largest and most vibrant manufacturing sector.
With various challenges and opportunities facing the industry, from COVID-19, the National Food Strategy, to the UK’s new trading relationship with the EU, the organisation is advertising a new role for a Senior Economic Policy Executive, with a dual focus on leading the team’s export and economic policy priorities and delivering research to support wider policy goals and highlight the economic importance of the UK’s food and drink sector.
Working as the Senior Economic Policy Executive you will play a key role in leading the efforts to secure additional support for UK exporters to help the industry drive the Government’s Global Britain strategy while underpinning the organisation’s credibility as a respected economic commentator. The role involves working with the organisation’s policy and media experts, member companies, Government departments, the media and a wide range of stakeholders, helping to communicate the industry’s economic importance and ensuring the organisation’s policy arguments are evidence-based.

Duties and Responsibilities
To provide strategic Health Economics expertise and input into projects
To provide thought leadership within the Health Economics space
Support and manage internal initiatives and help drive growth of the Health Economics team

Provide QC support to the Health Economics and wider team
To provide health economic input and support development of payer communication tools

Qualifications and attributes required
2:1 or above Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, mathematics or related/relevant discipline
Relevant post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc / PhD Health Economics preferred but could be replaced by significant level of consultancy experience
Experience in a modelling role within a consulting agency or academic institution
Knowledge and practical application of all relevant methods of economic evaluation
Experience of developing models to support economic strategies
High level of competency in Excel and modelling skills are essential
Competency in conducting statistical analyses in R, Stata or other relevant software/platforms would be an advantage
First class communication skills with the ability to engage with clients in issues relating to projects in area of responsibility
Time management skills, including the ability to manage own time to meet deadlines
Self-motivated, ambitious, and flexible with an ability to cope under pressure / with competing demands
A good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage
