Town Clerk
Pay scale SCP 18-23 £24,982 - £27,741 pro rata
The Council is seeking to appoint a forward-thinking Town Clerk who can manage the Council’s statutory requirements, including the preparation of accounts, budgets, formulation of policies, managing staff and assisting the Council in its further development and promoting the interests of the town.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with a ‘can do’ attitude, who can demonstrate strong governance and financial management skills.
Previous Local Government experience and knowledge of Sage 50 accounting system is desirable but not essential. Training can be provided.
The post is 20 hours per week, however the duties of Town Clerk will require attending evening meetings and events, and occasional weekend working.
