Experienced Estimator with the following skill sets below:

 

·      Provide estimate updates to Chief Estimator and Project Controls Manger as required.

·      Ensures that estimates are continually reviewed and revised as and when new information becomes available and more is known about the project.

·      Provide life-cycle costing for various estimating components.                   

·      Able to perform top-down conceptual estimating

·      Ensures, whenever possible, that comparative techniques are used, e.g. estimates are based on previous experience and usage statistics.      

·      Normalizes top-down estimates to reflect project factors such as escalation, currency, local market conditions.         

·      Able to perform bottom-up measurement-based estimating.

·      Able to Produce detailed estimates in a timely and efficient manner, based on Bills of Quantities/take-off and Activity Based costs.

·      Co-ordinate the cost data analysis and feedback process from contractors' tenders and project closeout.

·      Maintain records that are auditable and maintained throughout the project and closeout.                     

·      Estimates performed must work with current Cost and Schedule management processes and tools

·      Display knowledge and applied understanding of Earned Value Management

·      Ability to clearly document report and communicate estimate information to the Chief Estimator and Project Controls Manager

·      Display a confident understanding of industry-standard scheduling and cost management tools


  1. Commercial Construction (Classes 1-3) Experience
  2. Commercial Types. Commercial construction is divided by use and fire resistance. High-rise buildings and large multi-family residential units are Type I, the highest commercial class; schools and commercial buildings are Type II; and warehouses and similar buildings are Type III.
  3. Full knowledge of the AIA Construction Division Master Format 1995 Edition and what scopes are in each section
  4. i.e. Division-3 is Concrete; Division-8 is Doors & Windows; Division-15 is Mechanical/Plumbing
  5. Previous work experience as a lead estimator for a general contractor or a subcontractor
  6. Previous work experience negotiating and preparing construction change order requests
  7. Previous work experience preparing order of magnitude and design progression (i.e. schematic/design-development/construction-document) cost estimates


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of related estimating work experience
  • An advanced degree in management or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience providing cost estimation on healthcare and/or cleanroom projects, infrastructure projects, construction in occupied facilities, or utility infrastructure projects (central utility plants that include MEP scopes)
  • Previous experience using estimating database supported software.

Position Summary:
+ Support pre-proposal activities and reviews to ensure proposal requirements are clearly defined
+ Utilizes historical data in the preparation of material cost estimates to supportpricingrequests
+ Request and review inputs from functional areas, Bell off-sites, and quotes from suppliers as needed
+ Perform quality review of cost estimates to ensure data is current,accurate, and complete

Qualifications
Position Requirements :
+ Bachelor'sdegree in Accounting,Business,Math or other related field from an accredited university is required.MBA or Masters’ Degree in a related field is preferred
+ Two years of pricing, estimating, cost controls,business management, industrial engineering or related experience in the aerospace/US Department of Defense manufacturing industry is preferred
+ Basic knowledge of US Government contracting, experience in the development of price proposals under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), or familiarity with commercial aerospace pricing practices is required
+ Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word,PowerPoint, and Access is required
+ Possess the necessary skills and knowledge of accounting systems and processes in order to properly apply the overhead costs, burden costs, pricing factors, and other applicable rates in the development of the price for a proposal
+ Specific to USG Role: ProPricer and SAP experience is preferred
+ Specific to Commercial Role: Apttus,SAP, Enovia, and SalesForce experience ispreferred.Ability to read blueprints is required.

This person is responsible for conducting physical inspection of inbound railcars. This individual verifies cleaning certificate/cleanliness of car and identifies and documents any AAR defects on railcars.

What You'll Do:

  • Physical inspection of inbound railcars
  • Identify and document all running numbers
  • Verify cleaning certificate/cleanliness of railcar
  • Identify and document any AAR defects on railcar
  • Review shopping instructions and compare physical findings
  • Note any findings not on shopping instructions and communicate with fleet manager or customer as required
  • Create BRC (Billing Repair Card) estimate based on shopping instructions and physical findings
  • Submit estimates for review and approval from fleet manager or customer
  • Use TAS, RAS, ALLTRANSTECH systems to complete estimates and other documents
  • Key revisions and additional work content to the BRC and submit for approvals as needed

What You'll need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and at least six months similar work experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • Comforability with general hand tools (Impact, pipe wrench, various hand tools, camera, fall protection)
  • Ability to work outside in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions (60% of time) and in office setting (40%)
