Civil engineers are behind the development of public infrastructures such as bridges, tunnels, airports, motorways, railways, water and waste management facilities, ports, and buildings. This role entails high levels of responsibility and the ability to undertake complex tasks, liaise with clients, architects, builders, and local authorities. Civil Engineering Salary Information

Pay varies depending on location (London allowances are often included as part of a salary package) and experience. Recent graduates can expect to make £20,000-£23,000 / year, and salaries may increase to £30-£35,000 after 5 years. Civil engineers with substantial experience and chartered status can earn £50,000, whereas civil engineering director roles command salaries that average £70,000.
