Our maintenance team are responsible for providing ongoing planned and reactive maintenance for more than 9,000 residential properties across London. This position will cover a patch of North London in Islington where our housing stock consists mainly of Victorian/Edwardian Street properties.
As a multi skilled engineer, you’ll carry out high quality repairs and maintenance works to these domestic properties. The work will involve working on a variety of projects, particularly sash windows, casement windows, doors, shutters, skirting boards and staircases. We also undertake other projects so general property maintenance/building/decorating skills would also be an advantage.
This position will involve working in residential homes, so we require someone who is capable and happy both working on their own or in a small team, has an excellent attitude to customer service and care, has a good eye for detail, and takes pride in the quality of their work. You’ll have a good focus on Health and Safety awareness and wear the correct PPE at all times.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm. You will be provided with a company van, fuel card and uniform as part of this excellent opportunity.
The successful candidate will have previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings, this will have ideally been gained working for a maintenance contractor although is not essential.
The preferred candidate will hold a trade City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Carpentry and have substantial knowledge of other general building maintenances. This could include: plumbing, painting, tiling etc. You will also hold a valid CSCS Card and full UK driving license.
You will be an effective communicator and will possess customer care skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Above all, we are looking for an individual who is motivated with the ability to put the customer/client first.

Duties include all aspects of wood machining and assembly. Suitable Bench Joiner candidates must be able to complete projects from start to finish to set deadlines. This is a fast paced and rapidly growing company. Ability to hit the ground running and think on your own initiative is a must.

We are seeking an experienced maintenance operative to join our Canning Town based mobile repairs team. We are responsible for 6,000 social houses in the area, and we undertake repairs on a reactive/call-out basis. This is a mobile role, and as such you will be offered a company vehicle (van) to travel between the homes of residents and complete repairs. The works you will undertake varies from property to property, but could include repairs to doors, replacement of door furniture (such as locks and hinges), repair and replacement of cabinetry or work surfaces in kitchens/bathrooms, repairs to sash windows and much more. From time to time you may be asked to attend repairs for other trades, subject to the preferred applicant holding the relevant knowledge/skills, however this experience is not essential as carpentry work is the main focus of this role.
Our goal is to ensure that we undertake repairs to a very high standard, and as such, the role requires a candidate with great attention to detail and a passion for completing works to a high standard.
The working hours are 8am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
The preferred candidate will have strong carpentry experience, ideally gained within a reactive repairs role servicing social housing. As Maintenance Operative you will be responsible for the maintenance of a busy hospital/healthcare site in Bristol. There is a particular emphasis on carpentry works to include replacing and repairing doors and frames including fire doors, installing and repairing kitchen cabinets and wall based units, installation of bedroom furniture, skirting and boxing in. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of reactive works and planned preventative maintenance (PPM's). This could include fire alarm testing, repairs to the fabric of the building, changing lamps, replacing locks and much more.
In addition to reactive repairs, there will also be some planned upgrade works, refurbishment as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users.
You will be based at the prestigious Blackberry Hill Hospital in Bristol although there may be some travel to other local sites. Normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. There is also the opportunity to participate in an on-call rota system (which offers the opportunity to increase your earnings and be involved in additional urgent repairs).
