The Role:
The Trust currently has a full-time (35 hrs per week) vacancy for a Night Care Assistant to work shifts at Alexandra House, their residential care home.
As a Night Care Assistant you will put the residents' care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. The Trust promotes independence, dignity and quality of life always in a person centred, caring and supportive environment.
You will assist with both physical and emotional support and personal care, assisting residents who need support going to bed or getting up in the morning, you will perform regular resident checks throughout the night and complete reports as needed.
Key things about you:
  • Ideally you will have your NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care but they will provide this training if needed
  • Some experience in long term care, assisted living or home care but this is not essential, training can be provided
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for successful candidates

Night Care Assistants Responsibilities:

•As a Nights Care Assistant you will consistently deliver a high standard of care to all our residents.
•Working under the direction of the Senior Care Assistant, you will support or assist residents to maintain all activities of daily living, ensuring that their personal care, physical and emotional needs are met.
•You will ensure that all residents are socially presentable in appearance when applicable and in accordance with their individual wishes, maintaining their dignity.
•When serving food to residents, ensure all meals and snacks are well presented and appealing, and assist residents with their nutritional intake as required.
•Support the Housekeeping staff to ensure all residents have a neat and tidy room, and that their clothing and equipment are clean and safely stored to minimise potential risk.
•Communicate professionally and warmly with residents, relatives, visiting health professionals and staff at all times.
•Ensure that residents night time care is delivered with minimal disruption, and enables residents to sleep peacefully, whilst maintaining their safety.

Night Care Assistants Requirements:

•NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
•6 months previous experience in direct care, preferably within an older person setting.
•Excellent interpersonal skills.
•Ability to prioritise care, and work under your own initiative.
•Ability to work as part of a team.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•A caring and compassionate disposition.

The Role:

The Trust currently has a full-time (35 hrs per week) vacancy for a Night Care Assistant to work shifts at Alexandra House, their residential care home.

As a Night Care Assistant you will put the residents' care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. The Trust promotes independence, dignity and quality of life always in a person centred, caring and supportive environment.

You will assist with both physical and emotional support and personal care, assisting residents who need support going to bed or getting up in the morning, you will perform regular resident checks throughout the night and complete reports as needed.

Key things about you:
  • Ideally you will have your NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care but they will provide this training if needed
  • Some experience in long term care, assisted living or home care but this is not essential, training can be provided
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for successful candidates
