This is a well established company specialising in the installation of Structured Cabling, Audio Visual, Fire & Security and associated services to a wide range clients in the corporate, public and education markets UK wide.
Due to the companies continued growth they require Data Cabling Engineers at all levels and skill sets for contracts in the Edinburgh area
Capabilities / Skills
- Previous experience in Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A cabling installations
- Used to working unsupervised
- Completing works to a high standard
- Capable of using a Fluke for testing and fault finding
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team and follow detailed instructions
- Flexible and able to work out with normal hours
- Fibre Termination (desirable but not essential)
Qualifications
- CSCS or ECS Card
- Cabling Manufacturers training Certificates
- IPAF/PASMA License (desirable but not essential)
- MOD SC Clearance (desirable but not essential)

- Working hours 37.5
- Overtime available
- Van could possibly be available/provided
- Driving Licence (desirable but not essential)

The role will involve carrying out civil engineering and ground work in preparation for construction of a small-medium sized Wind Farm and offsite cable route.
Prior experience of Onshore Wind Civil Projects would be highly desirable, however backgrounds in related sectors will be considered. 3D earth and concrete work experience is essential, ideally with LSS software or a similar package.

Job Description
  • To undertake the planned maintenance and repair of the Electrical equipment, of building(s) as required under contract
  • To carry out any other handyman/semi-skilled/basic plumbing or fabric tasks as required
  • To carry out reactive tasks within the contract SLA’s
  • Role is based at Sainsbury’s Lochside & Rosyth (no company vehicle is provided, use of pool vehicle)
  • Flexible and proactive can do approach is essential
  • Must be able to establish a good relationship with customer on site
  • Must be available for out of hours working when required
  • Will be required to be part of the on call rota
  • Rotating working pattern – 7am to 3pm and 10am to 6pm
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports
  • Carry out Reactive and emergency tasks and complete the associated paperwork
  • Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales·  
  • Working with visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety, issue of appropriate Permits
  • Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to tasks required on site
  • All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To forge and maintain excellent customer relations with on site clients at all times
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
Qualifications
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role
  • 18th Edition Qualification
  • Industrial Electrical Experience – working in industrial/production environments
  • Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
  • Strong customer care focus.

·         Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;

·         Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;

·         Report any issues or training needs to your  Line manager and /or  via your divisional incident reporting system;

Level of Authority

·         The job holder will have the authority to carry out their role on a day to day basis in accordance with all prevailing company policies.  The job holder will have authority to incur expenditure and to agree legally binding commitments on behalf of the company but these must be in accordance with the company authorisation limits, which are determined by the Authorisation Register
