We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity, for an experienced team administrator to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team (SPCT), currently consisting of Hospital and Community Macmillan Palliative Care Nurse Specialists, Consultants in Palliative Medicine , Hospice at Home Service and Admin and Clerical Team.

The SPCT provides specialist support, care and advice to patients and their families living with life limiting illness, in East North Wales, across primary and secondary care and HMP Berwyn.

The post holder will contribute to the provision of an effective and comprehensive administrative and secretarial support service to the Specialist Palliative Care Team.

The post holder is expected to maintain strict confidentiality at all times, in view of the access to medical information concerning patients and their families.

The post holder will work within the integrated Specialist Palliative Care Team, East division of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, based in the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and will be expected to work week days, during the hours of 9 - 5pm.

About the job

This position will ensure the delivery of high-quality provision across their range of Adult / Childcare and Management Apprenticeship Standards qualifications Levels 3 to 5.  

You will also tutor / assess a number of learners directly in order to appreciate challenges from a tutor’s perspective.  

This role offers autonomy, flexibility and the opportunity for long term development and progression with a forward-thinking organisation.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Managing a case load of learners, you will, through the internal verification process be identifying issues and standardising procedures in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Coach and motivate a team of assessors to continuously improve performance and ensure consistent quality teaching.
  • Coach and motivate a number of Learners adopting training styles accordingly in order to achieve successful outcomes for Level 5 students.
  • Complete the Approval process for new Qualifications and Standards to be delivered.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is in order and quality evidence is collated accurately.
  • Keep up to date with Awarding bodies requirements through standardisation meetings and involvement in Awarding organisations meetings. 

About you

  • It is essential that you are a qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier
  • Ideally you will have knowledge of both Standards and Frameworks
  • A1 & V1 Award or equivalent 
  • Capable of producing accurate and detailed reporting and training
  • Proactive with a can-do approach
  • Fully computer literate
  • Must be able to visit the Wrexham head office no less than once a month
  • You must be prepared to travel
