Staines Overview

Staines, a suburban town on the River Thames, in Surrey, lies within the London Commuter Belt. The Staines post town spans a network of villages, including Stanwell, Wraysbury, Laleham and Egham Hythe. The last of these is a ward that’s a part of neighbouring Egham, which is home to several listed buildings and businesses. Churches, schools, railway and bus stations, sports and leisure centres, parks and riverside promenades, pedestrianised areas that play host to regular markets, shopping centres and convenience stores are but some of the town’s facilities. Staines is well-connected by rail. There are active services on the riverside lines that connect Weybridge to London Waterloo, and Reading to Windsor and Eton. Buses to Royal Holloway College, Thorpe Park and other local destinations are freely available. The nearest airport is London Heathrow, which is about 3 miles away. The average property cost here is £358,221, based on December 2015 statistics.
