Ramsgate is a bustling town, lying on Kent's East Coast. A thriving seaside town, it has kept to its Victorian roots, and you can still see many of the popular spots that made it such a sought-after holiday destination, even today. It has excellent road and rail links to London, Canterbury and Dover. Just outside of Ramsgate is the popular out-of-town shopping centre of Westwood Cross, which provides a large amount of Ramsgate jobs.
House prices are in line with median Kent prices, a two bedroom house costing £320,000 on average, with a rental agreement on a two bedroom property fetching between £700 and £800 per month, depending on the location within the town.
Ramsgate Job Opportunities
The retail park, Westwood Cross, is set a short drive away from Ramsgate, and it provides a large number of retail opportunities. This is where the majority of href="http://www.monster.co.uk/jobs/q-sales-jobs-l-ramsgate,-southern.aspx">sales jobs are made available in the area. With Ramsgate situated close to Dover, and with it being a holiday destination in its own right, there are a large number of tourism jobs and opportunities. Not surprisingly, mist of the jobs on offer today are href="http://www.monster.co.uk/jobs/q-it-jobs-l-ramsgate,-southern.aspx">IT jobs, though.
Ramsgate Employment Trends
A new ferry terminal was constructed a few years ago. Its use did not take off as expected - still, the terminal is used for commercial purposes, and a number of new cars are shipped into Ramsgate daily, so the port itself does provide some jobs in Ramsgate. Traditionally, Ramsgate has been a seaside holiday destination, and this is still very much the case. The main industries still remain, with tourism, hotels and restaurants, as well as having a busy fishing harbour and fleet.
