The role involves working as a floater across the services involving filing, typing, sorting incoming and outgoing post, archiving, assisting in the maintenance of databases, ordering of stock, dealing with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, carers, staff and other departments in a calm and courteous manner. The post holder will work across community services to support the administration teams with general office duties so must be able to travel between bases.

You should be competent in word processing RSA 2/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification, organised and possess a recognised educational standard in English and Maths and/or equivalent demonstrable skills i.e. good command and understanding of both English language/literature and numerical skills. Experience of general office procedures is also desirable. Excellent keyboard and data inputting skills are needed as is the understanding of the importance in maintaining confidentiality

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly and under pressure.

You will be required to work as part of a team at a community base and provide cross cover during periods of staff absence.

The role

Data, and the quality of that data underpins many of the decisions and improvements in clinical care and operation of the trust. Working with the Data Quality team, you will provide an essential data quality service to the whole Trust.

This involves monitoring the quality of the data in the Trust’s systems in relation to NHS standards and providing feedback and support to hospital staff where appropriate

Skills & knowledge required

You’ll preferably have patient related NHS administrative experience, including an understanding of referral to treatment (RTT) data. Well-organised, with excellent problem-solving skills, you will have the ability to develop new skills and learn quickly in a new environment. You’ll be comfortable working with different IT systems, and proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel is essential. You’ll enjoy working as a member of a dedicated team and feel confident working with clinical and administrative staff across the Trust.
