Between the cities of Portsmouth and Chichester on the UK’s south coast lies Havant, a town with a population of over 125,000. Primary and secondary education is well served and the Highbury College of Further Education in nearby Portsmouth takes students up to university level foundation courses. Ideally situated for commuting both east and west along the coast on the A27/M27, and northerly toward London on the A3(M), Havant has a mixed working population which both commutes and works locally.
Served by two bus companies, services are frequent and provide good coverage locally, as well as to the larger cities of Portsmouth, Chichester, and Brighton for those wishing to travel further afield by road or rail. Havant Borough Council has no social housing, but it works in conjunction with other local councils, offering a range of ‘Help to Buy’ and Help to Rent’ schemes. House prices are on a par with other towns along the south coast, and cheaper than similar properties found in the local cities.
