We are looking for Waiting List Coordinators to support the central admissions service at the Enfield Civic Centre. The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Coordinate theatre lists, bookings and admissions of patients in line with the principles of the 18-week target and ensure the Trust’s Elective Access policy is applied fairly and consistently.
• Communicate clearly and effectively at all times with patients regarding their bookings, as well as with clinicians and operational teams to ensure a smooth and effective process for patients and staff operating within the 18-week framework.
• Ensure all patient data is entered correctly into PAS.
• Use the RTT PTL to ensure RFL targets are met in regards to booking, dating and waiting times for admission.
• Maintain a regular ‘look forward’ report of upcoming theatre lists, ensuring all lists are fully booked and locked down at 2 weeks. Escalate any capacity issues with management.
• Ensure an efficient and timely transfer of patients from the Trust’s waiting list to external agencies.
• Organise consultants admissions diaries and arrange patients admissions to theatres
• Ensure collaborative working with the Clinical and Operational teams’ to book planned waiting list initiatives.
• Ensure patients are notified of their admission dates with sufficient notice by letter and/or telephone.
• Ensure bed managers, wards, theatres and medical records are aware of patient’s admission dates.
• Work with other teams so that services are provided in a way that meets the needs of the patient.
• Support and promote team working and have a clear understanding of the aims of the service.
• Identify plan and book services in order to meet specific patient needs essential to admission, such as interpreters and transport.
• Work in a calm and organised manner even at times of stress or pressure.
