This is an opportunity to join our established Adult Physiotherapy team. The successful applicant will work within this team and provide therapy within a 7 day service framework to clients in both acute and community hospital settings as required by the team leaders.

Clinical work is organized in 6 monthly rotations over a wide variety of areas including musculoskeletal outpatients including hydrotherapy, orthopaedics, neurology, medical, surgery, respiratory, ITU and stroke rehabilitation. You will work alongside Physiotherapy staff and the wider MDT and your development will be supported by senior staff working within these areas. The trust has robust induction training and a preceptorship programme to support you in the first 6 months of your career. The physiotherapy department aims to help successful candidates through competencies in all core areas including on call training. On call commitments can be arranged at a main acute site nearest to your home.

The MSK teams now process all MSK referrals via a single point of access for all MSK referrals for north Durham CCG and DDES CCG.

During what is a challenging time for all, we are looking to appoint an additional Band 6 clinical sister, to support the Ward Manager and ward team of the daily running and management of the general surgical admissions unit. Recently the SAU and Ward 16 have merged to create a 33 bedded emergency surgical unit. Following a review of establishments, a position has become available for an additional Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse to support the Ward Managerin the supporting the staff, HR management, but more so to ensure the smooth day to day running of the ward with a strong focus on providing care and support to the patients.

We specialise in looking after patients who have been admitted on the emergency surgical pathways, receiving patients from ITU, pre and post-operative care, and from different admission processes including GP referrals, CDU and clinics.

We are a great supportive team, and this would be a great developmental and supported opportunity. We are looking for someone with surgical experience, and an understanding of what it is like to work within a challenging and fast paced unit; ideally someone who has an interest in joining and supporting the senior nursing team and the junior team to continually adapt to change and develop new skills with the patient in the fore front of our combined goal.
