We’re a large organisation with three hospitals located in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole. We also provide community services in North Lincolnshire. Our 6,500 members of staff care for and support a population of more than 400,000 people.
We encourage all our staff to innovate and adopt ‘best practice’ so we can deliver excellent care to our patients. We ask staff to live our values; kindness, courage and respect.
We are committed to recruiting the best people to work with us. You could be one of them
Ward 3 is delighted to be at the forefront of the trust's recovery from the CoronaVirus Pandemic.
The change in national legislation regarding the increase of social care in the community has allowed us the capacity to diversify into the world of day surgery. Hence we are very happy to be able to offer exciting new posts in our hybrid ward; caring for 8 medical rehab patients at one side of the ward, caring for an interesting variety of day case surgical patients on the other.
Formerly a medical ward we now find that many of our patients are being discharged for their rehabilitation in the community so we are now able to offer a much more specialised rehab for patients who need a longer period to regain their independence, specifically patients following Stroke, lengthy Intensive Care stays, those wth the symptoms of 'Long Covid' etc. An increase in therapy led services will allow us to focus more on patient driven goals rather than relying on a more medical model for patients length of stay.
The Increase in community rehabilitation therefore has allowed us to alter our bed base to help the trust regain its surgical momentum. We now have space for up to 14 day surgery patients to begin surgery once again in a 'clean/green' site. Not all trusts find themselves in the enviable position of having an elective 'Clean/Green' site so we are looking forward to offering patients the procedures that the Covid Virus has delayed for so long.
The day surgery cases will be predominantly, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Urology, with Eye surgery and Orthopaedics on a nearby ward.
So if your interests lie in Rehabilitation or in Surgery then this may just be the job for you. Day or Night contracts may be considered depending on the candidate and we are proud to be a very family friendly ward so flexible working patterns are always available. We are looking for colleagues who are motivated, flexible, reliable and positive to join our happy ward family.
Goole Hospital is ideally situated near to the M62 and is only a short drive from Scunthorpe, Hull, York, Doncaster etc. Feel free to contact the ward sister for a tour of the ward where you can see our lovely ward, the clean, quiet environment and witness for yourself how easy our car parking is and how easy we are to find!
