Dorset HealthCare would like to recruit a new community geriatrician to support an innovative service delivery model in which the appointed consultant geriatrician will work alongside primary care colleagues and multi-disciplinary colleagues in order to provide high quality community care in Community Hospitals and in people’s homes.

The Trust provides community and mental health care across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. There are eight Community Hospitals that provide a comprehensive service for intermediate care and long-term conditions for the elderly.

The post holder will work alongside primary care colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide leadership and flexible, responsive care in Bridport and Westhaven Community Hospitals, Outpatient Settings and in patients’ homes.

Our medical team work closely as part of our integrated team of nurses and therapists to provide assessments and treatments for inpatients on our wards. They support our community teams by undertaking domiciliary assessments and participating in a virtual ward management of local patients which is integral to our local service to support frail and elderly patients to remain in their own home.

The West Dorset Locality is a proactive integrated ‘forward thinking’ team, who work together to achieve true integration, always having the patient at its centre.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Catering Assistant to join our friendly dedicated catering team in Bridport Community Hospital for a fixed term of 9 months.

We have a part time vacancy of 26.5 hours per week- the rota involves working weekdays only although some flexibility in the work pattern may be required

Working weekends attracts a higher rate of pay; there is also an opportunity to work extra hours to cover annual leave or sickness absence as required.

As a Catering Assistant you will help prepare sandwiches, salads and other meals for the wards. You will also help to prepare meals, hot/cold snacks that are served within our newly refurbished dining room, serving visitors, staff and patients.

Catering Assistants within the hospital have a key role in maintaining a high standard of meal provision to patients and make a valuable contribution in the wider care team that supports patients during their time in hospital. You should have good organisational and communication skills, be flexible in your approach to work whilst demonstrating an ability to work using your own initiative and work as part of a team.

Cheeki Monkeys are recruiting event organisers for a varied role within our already successful team.

 

As a Cheeki Monkeys event organiser, your tasks will involve:

 

  • Sourcing venues to hold our events
  • Uploading upcoming event dates to free event listing websites and parent forums
  • Promoting our Nearly New Baby Sales via Social Media platforms
  • Building relationships with family orientated business
  • Overseeing event days; venue setup/directing stallholders to their allocated pitches etc.

This is a waking nights position meaning you’ll be required to provide care throughout the night betweenthe hours of10pm and 7am,typically with two or three 10 hours shifts per week, although additional hours can be discussed and are available, including the option of Sleep In shifts. We run our rotas over a three week period and will include working alternate weekends.

About you

Experience with Learning Disabilities or Mental Health support for adults or children, either through employment or your own personal experiences is required for this role. Recognised care certificates such as NVQ or CQF are desirable but not essential as we can offer training from day one and fantastic career pathways to develop you to gain these qualifications.

Behaviour is often a way of communicating, so one of your most successful skills will be the ability to engage, listen and communicate with people successfully in a variety of ways.. Importantly you’ll understand the complexity of working with challenging behaviours and understand the need to be highly flexible, adaptable and resilient, which in return will unlock and incredibly rewarding career for you. Dorset HealthCare would like to recruit a new community geriatrician to support an innovative service delivery model in which the appointed consultant geriatrician will work alongside primary care colleagues and multi-disciplinary colleagues in order to provide high quality community care in Community Hospitals and in people’s homes.

The Trust provides community and mental health care across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. There are eight Community Hospitals that provide a comprehensive service for intermediate care and long-term conditions for the elderly.

The post holder will work alongside primary care colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team in order to provide leadership and flexible, responsive care in Bridport and Westhaven Community Hospitals, Outpatient Settings and in patients’ homes.

Our medical team work closely as part of our integrated team of nurses and therapists to provide assessments and treatments for inpatients on our wards. They support our community teams by undertaking domiciliary assessments and participating in a virtual ward management of local patients which is integral to our local service to support frail and elderly patients to remain in their own home.

The West Dorset Locality is a proactive integrated ‘forward thinking’ team, who work together to achieve true integration, always having the patient at its centre.
