As an Occupational Therapy Assistant within Virgin Care in Bath, you'll join thisfriendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team., who are focuced on clinical excellence and provides out-patient interventions for Falls and Parkinson’s patients.

Your days will be rewarding and variedand include:assisting the Occupational Therapists within the multidisciplinary team to encourage patient independence and implement goal directed intervention. To carry out initial Occupational Therapy telephone screening assessments and follow up rehabilitation home visits under the supervision of the Occupational Therapists.

Key elements of the role are:

• • Based at the Clara Cross Centre but involves travelling within the community visiting patients at home and involves lone working.

• • The work involves physical activity including the manual handling of equipment and occasionally patients. Working patterns are varied with the need for flexibility and the ability to respond to competing priorities.

• • Maintaining a high standard of patient focused care reflecting an inter-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation and a holistic and seamless service.

• • Develop good communication links with patients and carers being able to manage sensitive situations and ensure patient confidentiality.

• • Joint working with other services across professional and organisational boundaries.

• • Work effectively and flexibly under direct or indirect supervision. Be responsible for and work unsupervised for identified tasks and reporting back to a clinician in a timely manner.

• • This role requires the successful applicant to be mobile, visiting several locations across a wide geographical area so the post holder must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to an appropriate means of transport to undertake the job effectively.

You will support the nursing staff in delivering a high standard of patient care, displaying strongcommunication and organisation skills at all times. Previous experience in a health or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
