RSK Communication Services is looking for a senior writer to join its editorial team. You would be writing technical marketing materials for our clients (mostly in the international energy sector) on a broad range of topics increasingly focused on renewable energy and energy transition technologies. The successful applicant will have established leads / contacts to bring in new business.This is a great chance for an enthusiastic and diligent individual to join our team of 20 writers, designers and animators. Our writers all have science or engineering degrees.Following the COVID-19 pandemic, we have become a largely remote team, but meet 3–6 times a year in Cheshire, UK.We have been producing technical marketing materials for energy sector companies for more than 30 years, see www.creativersk.com for more information.The key responsibilities of this role include:Writing technical articles, case studies, news articles, websites and brochures and other marketing material, often on complex subjects and from supplied notes or Internet interviewsResponding to and liaising with external and internal clientsClient management and building good customer relationships to help grow the businessCoordinating projects, including invoicingEnsuring that our rigorous editorial process is followed.Essential experience and qualities:The successful candidate will be able toDemonstrate their ability to understand sometimes complex technical subjects and write clear, concise, complete and accurate copy from written briefs, i.e., reference examples in your CV and bring examples to an interviewImplement various editorial style guides and writing practicesLiaise with clients professionally and efficiently by phone and emailCoordinate multiple projects, including working with colleagues, tracking time and cost, and managing files appropriately.Desirable experience and qualities:Ideally, the successful candidate will have oil and gas, renewable energy, energy-transition / decarbonisation and / or engineering knowledge, and excellent communication skills, and will bring in new contacts and work.Someone with experience working within Shell or a similar company or for a marketing agency working for an energy company would be a good fit.Salary and benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceContributory pension schemeA flexible benefits programme, including the option to buy additional holidays, childcare vouchers and private health careAt RSK we operate an open and relaxed management culture that nurtures continuous improvement and innovation, adopting a proactive growth strategy helps us to run a sustainable and profitable business while providing new and exciting career opportunities for all.
