We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Development Manager to work within our Senior Management Team and take the lead in developing the capability of our successful and growing laboratory.

Based in our Hyde laboratory and reporting to the Managing Director our Technical Development Manager will have experience in method and procedural improvements in a laboratory setting, preferably from an Environmental/Contaminated Land background, and will relish the challenge of keeping abreast of current and future contaminants of concern.

Technical Development Manager - Hyde

Key responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on current development projects
  • Manage agreed future Improvement Projects
  • Work alongside our Quality Manager to manage extension to scope validation effort
  • Identify and commission key equipment and instrumentation
  • Negotiate and manage service and maintenance contracts
  • Deliver training presentations and provide technical advice, internally and externally

Person specification:

  • Experience in method and procedural improvements in a laboratory setting
  • Be able to troubleshoot existing procedures and recommend improvements
  • Previous experience of the requirements for gaining and maintaining ISO17025 and MCertS accreditation would be an advantage
  • Competent with Microsoft office packages
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Comfortable working alongside others to achieve goals
  • Tenacious and self-motivated
