Description

Capita Network Solutions is looking for a SWAN Technical Director, based in Glasgow. The Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) contract within Technology Solutions is a key pillar of Capita's strategy for the Public Sector Scotland account over the next few years. The SWAN Service delivers a multitude of MPLS network and value added services to all of the NHS in Scotland, as well as over 50 other Public Sector organisations such as the Scottish Government, Education Scotland, Forrest Research and many, many more.

The SWAN Technical Director will ensure the network design, modelling, security and documentation requirements to ensure the compliance and delivery of SWAN is in line with the obligations of the contract. The SWAN Technical Director will represent Capita within Scotland as one of the most senior technical figures and will be required to promote, guide and challenge the market to drive the technical strategy, portfolio and the SWAN framework. The SWAN Technical Director will be part of the Capita Public Service division and report into the Senior Client Director responsible for the SWAN contract. What you'll be doing:

•providing technical leadership and guidance to the Senior Client Director and SWAN Senior Management Team, giving expert technical advice and support
•acting as the senior client facing Technical lead within the Capita SWAN Senior Management Team in relation to all technical strategic and tactical interactions with the SWAN authority and members
•analysing user requirements and usability metrics to ensure customer satisfaction
•meeting with clients to resolve technical issues, refining and evaluating new requirements and providing technology-based thought leadership to meet both their strategic and tactical needs
•supporting the SWAN Change Teams to ensure each project's life cycle from conception to completion, emphasizing on technical soundness and resource efficiency
•developing and revising statements of work with Pre-Sales to include accurate time and cost estimates
•collaborating with the wider SWAN client facing teams to create accurate and detailed solutions for customer approval
•enforcing technical and architectural standards as set out in the SWAN contract across all departments
•researching and introducing potential new technologies, supporting the development of the SWAN Product Catalogue and Value Added Services
•assisting in maintaining all in-house technical standards and required technical and security accreditations
•managing a variety of internal technical and operational stakeholders (matrix) 

What we're looking for:

•Proven and demonstrable experience as a Technical Director/CTO
•Engineering qualification with a strong content of data and IP networking experience
•Sophisticated understanding of the design and implementation of Cisco technology deployed under the SWAN contract and relevant operational and strategic activities
•Demonstrable track record of successfully leading, building and delivering a functional design area
•Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable success building, maintaining and progressing relationships within and between organisations
•Strong management, organisational, and coordination skills with proven ability to prioritise and control a demanding workload and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
•Demonstrable success in building teams, including demonstrable experience in recruiting, line management, matrix management and performance management
