Job Description 


This position is responsible for providing Operational and Financial support to our clients and business partners, on DCI’s Settlement systems.  This includes settlement system balancing, maintaining current control process documentation, problem determination, resolution of imbalances and servicing client inquiries.


Perform the following functions for DCI Settlement and related reporting:

  • Settlement system balancing duties including reporting, exchange rates, file submissions, handoff files, cashbook, banking reconciliations and other financial reporting requirements.

  • Investigates and provide resolution for all errors, rejections, imbalances arising from the daily balancing controls.

  • Work directly with Discover Treasury team and/or Settlement Agent to resolve cashbook/settlement discrepancies, including initiating manual payment requests.

  • Work directly with Network Finance team in relation to general ledger balancing and initiate manual corrective postings.

  • Provide defect and enhancement detail arising from daily processes or customer requirements, in order to automate system controls or improve customer experience.

  • Maintains process documentation, effective business controls and provides continuous process improvement.

  • Client servicing on settlement inquiries from clients and business partners, providing premier customer service, within agreed SLAs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Cross functional knowledge of the Payment Network Industry focusing on operations (desired).

  • Customer Service experience or Business related experience.

  • Strong focus on providing premiere customer service.

  • Understanding and commitment to compliance and risk management per industry standards.

  • Ability to analyse existing processes and identify ways to automate and streamline them.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees and management; including managing expectations, communicating issues, risks, opportunities and communication with network participants.

  • Self-motivated; demonstrated ability to work independently.

  • Desire to embrace change, successfully adapting to changing demands and conditions.
