Service Engineer- Competitive Salary- Cannock, Staffordshire

The Role

Do you have proven mechanical and electrical engineering experience, coupled with fault finding and diagnostic skills? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are an established coding and labelling specialist, looking to appoint a Service Engineer to join our team with responsibility for installing and maintaining industrial inkjet printers, labelling systems, label printers and other related products.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Service Engineer include, but are not limited to:

A mix of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical skills including:

•Conveyor and motor controller wiring.
•Understanding of photocells and shaft encoders.
•Knowledge of pneumatic systems would be an advantage.
•Documentation of electrical systems.

The Company

As an independent distributor, Martek is able to choose leading products from suppliers including REINER and EBS handheld inkjet printers, EBS and UBS inline inkjet printers, Collamat label applicators, Klinger print-and-apply systems, Valentin label printers, Datalogic laser coders and Valentin thermal coders.

As well as supplying off-the-shelf systems, Martek also specialises in integrated solutions comprising, product handling, coding, labelling, validation, software integration and automation.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Service Engineer are:

•Previous experience as a field service engineer or in another engineering capacity.
•Fault-finding and diagnostic skills are essential.
•City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations Level 3 or equivalent (Preferable).
•Knowledge of PLC programming and serial communications would be an advantage.
•Flexible working – the position requires some flexibility in working hours, travel and overnight accommodation (typically 1 night per week).
•Occasional overseas travel is required mostly for training at suppliers’ premises.
•Very occasional weekend working is required. 
•A full UK driving license with 3 points maximum is required.
•The successful candidate should live within a 45-minute commute of Cannock.
