Swiss Precision Diagnostics (SPD) are currently recruiting for a Senior Statistician to join our Statistics and Data Management team based in Bedford, UK. This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to act as a statistical consultant to Product Development, Clinical Affairs and Marketing by providing guidance, analysis and reporting on experimental design, verification & validation, clinical trials, marketing claims and new concept research.

Main Responsibilities

  • Expected to be able to interpret the commercial strategy of our products and translate these into robust statistical plans that will deliver the business goals
  • Will critically review all protocols and provide an independent scientific view on proposed research work and comment on its statistical practicality
  • Will perform statistical analyses within a framework of good statistical practice to meet the project requirements
  • Will adapt and develop statistical techniques to ensure the best use of experimental material
  • Will analyse and report data for various SPD projects, including R&D projects, clinical trials or other data sources, and present the results of these analyses for non-statisticians in both oral and written reports
  • Will have a current working knowledge of regulatory statistical requirements for in-vitro diagnostic consumer testing
  • Will act as a statistical consultant, taking full statistical responsibility, to assigned projects, teams and business functions throughout SPD

Person Specification

  • A degree in Statistics or a BSc with an MSc in Statistics
  • Experience in medical devices/diagnostics, medicine/clinical research or engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant research and development experience in a statistical consultancy role
  • Use of SAS
  • Report and protocol writing skills
  • Oral presentation skills
