Software Developer working within a sprint team, Product Managers / Owners, Analysts and other stakeholders to design and progress key application developments delivering changes within defined product release cycles
following Agile SCRUM principles.
This is a home based role Capita SSS provides mission critical command and control software to the Emergency Services globally. Several development teams exist across products and locations to deliver customer funded projects/changes, strategic roadmap changes and fixes to support our current customer base.
This senior technical developer role is a largely internal facing role working within aa agile software development team to ensure the team meets its sprint goals and delivers quality software on time and to budget. The role is "hands on" being full involved in the code base of the applications using in depth knowledge of .NET framework, WPF, ADO.NET, data structures, code efficiency and problem-solving skills.
The seniority of this position means you will work closely with and report to the Software Development Manager to ensure issues and risks are manged in a timely manner. Collaboration within the team with all disciplines including Solution Assurance and Business Analysis is essential to the role.
The role does not require line management of staff initially though previous experience of line management, task management and delegation would be desirable and advantageous.
It's fully expected that suitable candidates will be up to date with current technologies allowing participation in architectural design decisions and the influencing of technologies considered within the current and future product suite.
What we're looking for:
•Minimum 5 years' experience within software development in a senior/leadership capacity Detailed knowledge of .NET development using Visual Basic and/or C# Agile Software Development Methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
•Experience Microsoft SQL Server Experience of technically leading a team and/or product successfully
•Experience in contributing to and making architectural and technical design decisions
•Experience of source control repositories e.g GIT
•Experience of using Azure or other cloud environments
•Strong working knowledge of developing enterprise web-based applications Knowledge of design patterns (such as MVVM, MEF, Reactive Extensions and Windows Workflow).
•Experience of Azure or other Cloud environments.
