YMCA Heart of England is an independent Christian charity, and a registered provider of social housing, affiliated to the national and international YMCA movement. We support people in our communities in Birmingham, Coventry, Rugby and Solihull, regardless of faith, race, ability or gender. We provide accommodation for nearly 340 young people, many of whom have experienced homelessness, and support them to get their lives back on track, as well as providing housing for them to move onto when they no longer need intensive support. We also offer affordable childcare from two children’s nurseries and deliver youth work for young people aged 11 – 19. We manage two community centres with conferencing facilities and deliver a range of business to business training, all of which create employment opportunities and deliver income for our charitable work.
We are committed to being a values-led organisation, and actively work to ensure that our values are reflected throughout the organisation.
To succeed in the Senior Life Coach role, you will need proven leadership qualities, with workplace experience of developing and motivating a team. You will have worked in supported housing and will understand the issues faced by disadvantaged young people.
You will also have detailed knowledge of current legislation relating to housing and to supported living, with particular reference to homelessness.
