Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a full time basis based in Bourne End. This will be a fixed term contract for 10/12 months which will be confirmed. Key duties and responsibilities include: Providing legal support to Golder’s European/Middle East Region and Africa Region; Assisting the business to achieve its commercial objectives at an acceptable level of commercial legal risk and in compliance with the law; Working with project teams, project managers and other support functions to prepare proposals, conclude appointments and resolve contract performance issues; Reviewing and negotiating consultancy agreements and other contracts including procurement contracts, joint venture and teaming agreements, framework agreements, warranties, novation’s, reliance letters, non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, and sub-consultancy agreements; Resolving legal disputes and assisting the business to respond to regulatory investigations; Ensuring compliance with corporate governance requirements especially in relation to contract approval and execution; Providing legal training including in relation to corporate governance, contract negotiation and anti-bribery and GDPR compliance; Generally contributing to the development of legal knowledge within the business; Developing and improving Golder’s legal templates including standard form contracts; Collaborating with Golder lawyers in other regions to develop a consistent approach to managing legal risk and sharing knowledge; Assisting the General Counsel, Europe/Middle East and Mining to manage relationships with external counsel and ensure they provide high quality and cost-effective legal advice.
