As theProduct Insights and Engagement lead, you will play a key role in creating insights that will drive our overall product strategy, roadmap, messaging, outbound product marketing and sales enablement activities for our products.  You will stay abreast of the latest information on the market and competitors through a programme of regular research and ensuring we collate feedback and insights from customers in a consistent and easy to manage way.  You will play a key role in raising our market profile and driving our commercial and sales success through participation in key events and supporting client demos, as well as taking a lead in ensuring our demo capability shows the best of Kainos. You will help ensure our sales and customer success teams are on top of their game by supporting the Product Marketing function to deliver and maintain the insights, enabling collateral and training relating to our products and services that they require.

 

You will be working with a well-qualified and expert team, in the leading Workday partner for automated testing globally, with a customer base of >200, many household names. And we’re growing both in terms of revenues and customers, but also in terms of our service offerings and the team. This is an opportunity to join at a crucial time to put your stamp on our offerings and how we continue to lead in our market.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the following areas:

  • Market intelligence – Drive a programme of activity to ensure we have the latest market insights (including priorities by persona, buying criteria, pricing trends and benchmarks, competitor insights, and technology trends), summarise insights to influence our product strategy, roadmap, and competitor response. The role holder will also lead presentations and regular updates to relevant stakeholders, including leadership team, product management, and client-facing teams.

  • Business Intelligence – You will own the creation and maintenance of the overall Product Management Dashboard.  You will play a key role in ensuring we have the latest information on our existing product performance, customer success and whitespace, the status on delivery of our product programme across product development and other key projects. This will provide the opportunity to liaise with a wide stakeholder base across the business and an opportunity to raise your profile personally and the profile of the product team

  • Growth opportunities – Based on Business Intelligence insights, work with Product Marketing lead and Product Managers across multiple streams to identify areas of potential growth / change, opportunities to improve our messaging, profile, and commercial success.

  • Customer Feedback – Work with the Product Managers to ensure we have a framework and tools in place to gather feedback and insights from customers (directly or via client-facing teams) in a consistent and easy to manage way. This is essential to prioritise our roadmap based on a good ‘fact base’ to we deliver the best, most valuable outcomes for our customers, and ultimately commercial success.

  • Sales enablement – As required, support the Product Marketing efforts to create and update sales enablement materials to convey the value proposition of the products and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products

  • Sales success - You will be comfortable with participating, sometimes leading, enablement sessions with customer-facing teams, engaging with customers, and as required leading demos. As part of this role, you will take the lead in supporting the evolution and maintenance of our demo capability, so it moves in line with the latest product developments, is joined up across offerings, shows the best of new innovation, and is ready to impress potential customers at any time.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of product and marketing experience, with experience in generating insights and engaging with, and demonstrating products to customers

  • At least 2 years in the technology space, ideally in the SaaS sector

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related discipline

  • Experience creating market insights, as outlined above, to help bring new technology product and services to market.

  • Business insights and reporting experience, with the ability to manage and analyse data using a variety of tools and present it back as a clear story, focused on the most important elements and areas of opportunity or risk

  • Excellent people skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties

  • Strong client-facing skills with confidence and ability to engage customers and other stakeholders through active listening, to gain new insights, and run functional product demos

  • The ability to quickly grasp and learn new technology concepts.  Sufficient technical aptitude to be able to work with new technology software (with training support), to interact with and configure demo environment as required

  • Ability to straddle both high level market and customer insights and technology discussions,  and be able to step back quickly into the wider market/product strategy/ commercial context.

  • Very strong written communication skills, including the ability to create compelling and professionally designed sales enablement materials (making use of relevant design tools) and marketing messages

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of ERP systems. Workday knowledge and experience will be a real bonus

  • Given the requirement to ensure our client-facing teams are well versed in our products and services, experience with creating training materials will be a benefit
