This is an exciting opportunity to join Technology and Administration Solutions (TAS) UK, as a Pensions Technical Specialist within our Special Projects team responsible for the delivery of services to a large banking client.
You will take the lead and offer direction on technical project work, interacting directly with the client and their advisors as well as internal consultants. Client facing skills as well as technical expertise is required with a hands-on approach to undertaking this role.
You will be reporting to the Senior Administration Manager and you will be working as a part of a client projects team with diverse skills and experience. The job requires a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility and who can independently deliver results on client specific projects.
+ Interact with the client and their advisors on complex and technical queries to understand their requirements and to clarify and document these.
+ Analyse business requirements, Trust Deed and Rules and other scheme documentation to plan an appropriate software solution with a focus on accuracy, build efficiency and maintainability.
+ Understand system-based calculation methodologies and use these to build bulk calculation solutions using existing individual calculations.
+ Work collaboratively with peers and contribute to the day to day management of the administration team
+ Drive the identification and delivery of process and system efficiencies to support the administration team
+ Contribute to, and help deliver, regular client cyclical activities, projects and workstreams.
+ Actively support and assist Client Managers to achieve and deliver excellence in the service proposition to the client and Scheme members.
+ Python and SQL script writing skills would be useful, but not essential.
+ Understand the links between the data and calculations and project streams, contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to increase end to end automation efficiencies and results with the aim of delivering operational self-sufficiency.
+ Take ownership of defined projects working within the special projects team to facilitate a successful outcome, participating in all aspects including requirements definition through to the creation of proforma/requirements, testing and live acceptance.
+ May include future line management responsibilities.
+ Continually champion the Company’s Professional Excellence principles, especially on high risk projects and successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
+ Work in a collaborative manner within a team environment to develop key relationships which support a culture of trust and transparency to achieve common business goals.

+ Experience of dealing with DB occupational pension schemes and DC would be advantageous
+ Client facing interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executive, managers and subject matter experts.
+ Pensions technical expertise is required
+ Experience of project based technical work in a client environment.
+ Ability to analyse and manipulate data and deliver in agreed client format with a strong working knowledge of MS Excel whilst being open to learning new technology and tools.
+ Ability to produce bespoke reports in conducive formats.
+ Familiarity with the Willis Towers Watson testing protocol is useful, but not essential.
+ Prior line management experience is useful, but not essential.
+ Ability to produce technical specifications and support documents that can go directly to Centralised Calculation Development resources.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with Centralised Calculation Development resources to deliver on client projects where necessary.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a drive to implement solutions.
+ Process driven with ability to modify approach.
+ Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize own workload.
+ Strong organisational abilities and flexibility to work in a team/virtual team environment managing multiple project priorities as well as an independent contributor.
