Job summary

Would you like to be part of a fantastic payroll team? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Payroll Officer to join our Shared Services team based at St James House, Salford, Manchester.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, passionate, and keen to learn, is that you.

The payroll department currently have hybrid home working where staff work 2 days in the office and 3 days at home. Also as we value our staff we also offer Flexi Time.

ELFS Shared Services, is a business division of Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

You will join our high quality team providing Payroll, Pensions and Expenses Services to over 82,500 NHS employees across 25 Trusts / CCGs.

You will work as a member of a team but must be able to work using your own initiative and have a willingness to embrace new technologies and change. Good interpersonal, organisational and planning skills are essential for this post, as are excellent communication and customer care skills.

Knowledge of using ESR would be an advantage as you would be maintaining Payroll/HR records. Inputting and recording for weekly and monthly payrolls. Due to the nature of the position an understanding of PAYE, National Insurance and NHS pensions would be essential.
