H-Farm College is a new independent provider of HE and executive courses, delivering online/blended learning in Management, Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation.

Summary of Overall Role Purpose

The Marketing Manager is a senior post within H-Farm College reporting to the Managing Director of H-Farm College and the College Board. This post is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and advertising plans for undergraduate, postgraduate, executive, and professional programmes, including the generation of enquiries, applications, and the recruitment of students. The post holder will manage the student recruitment strategy and outputs, the student experience during the initial application and will work closely with Heads of School, Faculties, continental counterparts, external agencies, web/internet development teams and publications teams. The Marketing Manager will play a key role in contributing to the development of the future direction of H-Farm College and will be the main point of expertise on student recruitment matters.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Managing Director and senior management, to develop the executive, undergraduate and postgraduate marketing strategies for the College in line with the strategic objectives of the College.
  • Undertake and coordinate the provision of market intelligence to provide insights into market conditions, pricing, competitor activity and sector behaviour, both nationally and internationally.
  • Work on all aspects of the CRM system, including the implementation and maintenance of the CRM system to ensure all data is up to date and accurate.
  • Keep up to date with external changes affecting student recruitment and advise on changes and how these affect marketing strategy and recruitment.
  • Prepare an external events strategy and to manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of executive, undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment events.
  • Run social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn) to enhance student applicant engagement.
  • Identify other event opportunities to support recruitment objectives.
  • Undertake and coordinate an advertising strategy and to manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of advertising.
  • Track marketing performance and return on investment and prepare weekly or monthly reports for management.
  • Lead and manage the calendar of activities to generate executive, undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.
  • Develop and manage effective communication and contacts with local, regional, and national schools and colleges.
  • Manage the content, use and distribution of printed and electronic student recruitment marketing material.
  • Manage the development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns to generate enquiries and applicants.
  • Oversee the enquiries and application process and to ensure it is in line with the aims of the College.
  • Lead the development of campaign and marketing materials to generate applications and enrolments from students.
  • To work closely with the senior management, Heads of Schools and College boards and be responsible for the student application experience, educational partnerships and widening participation.
  • Work closely with the Heads of Schools and other staff to manage the involvement of professional and academic staff in marketing executive, undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment activities.
  • Advise senior managers on changes to policy and procedures affecting the recruitment of students.
  • Work closely with external partners to oversee the development of appropriate relationships and partnerships with stakeholder and feeder institutions.
  • Work closely with Alumni and International teams to manage Open Days.

A problem-solving ability of a high level is required. It is essential to be able to communicate and work effectively across departments, with a clear perspective of the issues faced by staff and the contexts within which they operate.
