Manager of Strategic Planning, Clinical Diagnostics Business

Reporting to the General Manager, Global Clinical Business, this position will establish and manage the execution of strategic initiatives within Waters’ Clinical Business. Focus areas include strategic product roadmap development, new product business case and forecast, assessment of inorganic growth opportunities, business performance analysis, among others. This function will work closely with clinical teams in all key markets, Waters Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams, Quality and Operation teams, Product Marketing teams, and will interact with cross-functional teams adjacent to the Clinical Businessto support strategic initiatives.  Clear communication of strategic initiatives to the Field Teams is expected to drive our position as the world’s leading Specialty Measurement Company.

• Develop strategic plan and business cases such as commercial development of Intrinsix platform, expansion of NBS kits beyond the US (project Stork), among others.
• Create financial forecasts and standardized models for Clinical Content strategic initiative, stewarding business cases through New Product Development processes / WPPS at Waters.
• Conduct business performance analysis and propose fact-based recommendations to performance improvement.
• Develop and maintain inorganic growth strategic target list (companies or technologies) – working with CDO to direct searches for new potential targets and determine rankings based on Global Clinical Business team input.
• Support the Global Clinical Business with planning and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Support corporate strategic planning initiatives, representing the Global Clinical Business.

Qualifications:

• Minimum BS in Technology or Business field. MBA preferred.
• 5+ years experience in the Life Sciences industry
• Ability to effectively influence at the executive level and within peer group
• Strong leadership skills required
• Experience developing processes or products requiring FDA oversight
• Broad exposure to medical devices and drugs intended for use in Clinical settings
