Role: Jira/Confluence Specialist
Location: 40% onsite in your nearest UK Hub
Contract Duration: 12 months
Pay: Up to £650/day Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Security Clearance: SC Cleared Required

An experienced Jira/Confluence Specialist is required by a large-scale public sector organisation to lead a major Atlassian rationalisation initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to support the ongoing enhancement and transformation of digital service delivery, working within a collaborative and agile technical environment.
We're seeking a confident and technically strong Jira/Confluence Specialist to lead on migration, performance optimisation and ongoing configuration of Atlassian tools. You'll work closely with infrastructure and development teams to deliver scalable, user-driven solutions.
Jira/Confluence Specialist- Responsibilities:
- Leading the migration of Jira/Confluence projects, spaces, and users to a consolidated installation
- Building and customising new Jira projects and workflows tailored to business needs
- Integrating Jira with ServiceNow to enable strategic incident management
- Performing upgrades and optimising performance of Atlassian tools
- Reviewing and improving security groups and access roles
- Supporting and improving user experience through effective design and administration
- Ensuring clear communication with stakeholders during design, migration, and transition phases
- Supporting regular requests for new users, projects, workflows, and spaces
- Collaborating with the Operations and Multidisciplinary Delivery Team (MDT) to enhance support functions
- Performing service analysis to simplify and streamline processes
- Migrating tools and systems to the Atlassian Cloud
- Delivering changes at pace within an agile and DevOps-aligned environment
Jira/Confluence Specialist - Essentials Skills
- Extensive Jira and Confluence administration experience
- Proven expertise in Atlassian plugins (e.g. ScriptRunner) including Groovy scripting
- Prior experience designing and implementing Jira workflows and schemes
- Demonstrable ability to perform safe migrations across environments
- Experience working in fast-paced agile environments
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience integrating Atlassian tools with systems like ServiceNow
- Solid understanding of infrastructure in support of cloud-based platforms
- Security Clearance (SC) already in place
Jira/Confluence Specialist - Desirable Skills:
- Atlassian Professional Certifications
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure services
- Previous experience in government or large-scale public sector digital transformation projects
- Exposure to IaaS product support and DevOps toolchains
