Job Description


Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be part of the Caldicot operations team working as a Manufacturing Systems Engineering Intern.

More details on the expectations and responsibilities in this position:

  • Applying lean-manufacturing principles to deliver factory-wide productivity and throughput improvements
  • Maintain metrics for productivity and throughput measurement
  • Identify most impactful opportunities around cycle times, non-value-added activity, bottlenecks, etc., in support of business goals
  • Facilitating cross-functional teams in the application of the Demming Improvement Cycle (PDCA/DMAIC)
  • Implementing changes in relation to workplace organisation, data flows, line balancing, scheduling practices, etc.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-level educated in a manufacturing/engineering related discipline
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing facility preferred. Training and development support will be provided
