Housing Support Worker / Women’s Refuge Accommodation Assistant who has good knowledge of housing options, welfare benefits and other appropriate support systems with experience of working with a vulnerable client group is required for a well-established Charity in Manchester whose vision is to ensure that people suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support.
SALARY:£18,434 per annum(pro rata if part-time)+25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time workers)
LOCATION: Manchester, Greater Manchester, North West England
JOB TYPE: Full-Time and Part-Time, Permanent Positions Available
PART-TIME WORKING HOURS: 17.5 Hours per Week
FULL-TIME WORKING HOURS:35 Hours per Week
We have a new job opportunity for a Housing Support Worker / Women’s Refuge Accommodation Assistant who has good knowledge of housing options, welfare benefits and other appropriate support systems with experience of working with a vulnerable client group.
Working as a Housing Support Worker / Women’s Refuge Accommodation Assistant you will be responsible for income collection across the refuge estates, ensuring financial resilience and promoting economic independence amongst service users.
As the Housing Support Worker / Women’s Refuge Accommodation Assistant you will also be the organisation’s champion on Welfare Benefits and personal debt adviser, providing support to both service users and staff. You will develop effective partnerships with relevant local authorities and other agencies to facilitate the best service for residents. You will also advocate for residents and support them regarding their housing status and benefit applications whilst also managing their tenancy compliance.
You will be a pro-active, reliable individual who reflects the values of the charity in all that you do. Your experiences, whether in paid or voluntary work, will enable you to fulfil the role requirements but it is your attitude and character that will make you a successful team member.
You will enjoy a challenge and actively participate in delivering and developing services of the highest standard.

The charity is a women-led organisation whose vision is to ensure that people, suffering, or at risk of domestic abuse receive appropriate support. They assist recovery by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies.
The charity is a diverse organisation with 28% of their staff coming from BAME and 20% from LGBT communities. They span the generations with 11% of staff being aged 18-24 and 25% aged 55-64. 11% of staff identify as having a disability.
