Evolver Legal Services is seeking a General Paralegal - MID to support client and work at a Law Enforcement Agency in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

The General Paralegal provides professional, accurate, timely and reliable paralegal support reporting to the OGC-LITB and detailed to assist the litigating section. In particular, the General Paralegal will support the missions of the ELUs and CLUs. Work products are reviewed prior to submission; however, the General Paralegal will develop these products with minimal direct supervision other than written guidelines. The General Paralegal Task includes but is not limited to the following:

 

  • Receive, prioritize, and process requests such as document review or requests for advice or legal technical assistance;
  • Research and locate responsive information and identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles;
  • Perform typical Paralegal functions, including moderately complex legal research; synopsizing transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use; reviewing case related materials; and identifying potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation;
  • Write preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence;
  • Assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, exhibits, etc.; conducting legal analysis, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.



Qualifications:

Personnel shall meet ALL qualifications at their level, and ALL Personnel shall possess ALL of the following qualifications

 

Senior
ï‚· Law degree desired, not required
ï‚· Five or more years of litigation paralegal experience with trial experience.
ï‚· One or more years of experience in litigation support
ï‚· Active Top Secret Clearance.
ï‚· Have a sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
ï‚· Have excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools, such as LEXIS NEXIS and Westlaw.
ï‚· Perform legal research and writing.
ï‚· Prepare legal memoranda and correspondence.
ï‚· Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including aiding with discovery requests and responses; reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; drafting motions and briefs; organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices; and assisting at trial.
ï‚· Have excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
ï‚· Consistently demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and manage complex relationships with all stakeholders.
ï‚· Consistently deliver highest quality work under pressure.
ï‚· Have hands-on experience or training with ESI tools and general knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.

 

Mid
ï‚· Two or more years of litigation paralegal experience with trial experience.
ï‚· Successful completion of Paralegal degree or certificate

Technical Requirements (required and desired):

Senior

Training and Certifications (required and desired):
  • REQUIRED:  Must hold an Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Two or more years of litigation paralegal experience with trial experience;
  • Successful completion of a Paralegal degree or Certificate
