Fraud Rings - File Handler

Do you have File Handler experience in a Fraud team? Are you looking for your next move? Our Fraud team are looking to recruit a File Handler to join the team.

The role will be to investigate and resolve litigated cases where there is suspicion that the files form part of an organised Fraud Ring. The File Handler will work on a non-delegated caseload reporting to clients. The Fee Earner will work on a mix of Fixed Fee and hourly rate files.

Key Accountabilities:

• All Fraud Rings and associated files to have a technically and commercially sound strategy
• Identifying opportunities for strategic litigation
• Providing innovative and market leading strategies
• Identifying cross industry exposure and exposure to the Fraud Ring within Keoghs
• Consider and advise on the position of indemnity and appropriate case law.
• Compliance to the court timetable and employing procedural tactics to the clients’ advantage.
• Undertaking advocacy where required.
• Legal Research
• Undertake key investigations in accordance with identified fraud ring and regularly review strategy, following Keoghs processes.
• Provide written updates and reports to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress.
• Advise on potential recovery and enforcement in appropriate cases.
• Upon fraud being ruled out, to pursue the rapid and economic settlement of cases and costs.
• Achievement of Keoghs KPI’s, objectives and financial targets.
• Attending Client meetings where required which includes the provision of training/workshops to clients as well as social entertaining

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Established career in civil litigation claims handling / as a legal fee earner or suitably qualified (ILEX, LPC etc)
• Experience of handling and RTA pre-litigated and litigated fraud case load
• An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes together with indemnity principles
• Knowledge of the litigation process / working knowledge of the CPR
• Good advocacy skills
• Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines
• High level of analytical skills
• Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritise work, keep to deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions
• Excellent IT Skills
• Adhere to the Keoghs Values

Desirable

• Experience of handling Fraud Ring files
• Experience of handling RTA fraud files
