This is a broad FP&A role covering all areas within FP&A. The FP&A Manager will be working closely with the CFO, Head of FP&A, Head of Group Reporting and the business to provide clarity and understanding of business performance. Using commercial and financial analysis skills and experience to provide insightful analysis into company performance, to help drive the strategic direction of the business, to move the business forward, promote growth and help development of new business opportunities.


The successful candidate will also be responsible for continuous improvement of reporting packs, understanding the group reporting process, accurate reporting to the group and performance reporting to senior stakeholders up to Board level within the business, using a range of forward looking financials and non-financial indicators to highlight key issues and drive performance.


The ideal candidate must have an eye for detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to use relevant techniques to interrogate disparate data sources, and must demonstrate an ability to see beyond the data and visualise a concept or a solution.


The individual should have both the relationship skills and the confidence to be able to contribute their own suggestions towards key decisions, and also the improvement of reporting process and outputs. As well as be able to interrogate data and summarise key messages succinctly.


Key deliverables

  • Responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly revenue and Work in Progress reporting, ensuring it is accurate, timely and variances are understood and investigate
  • Modelling of potential business growth plans and large scale investments, and provide commercial support to the relevant business teams
  • Continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting, including broadening the sources of data used for reporting
  • Work very closely with the CFO to drive interaction with the wider business, and providing ad-hoc analysis and financial support to aid key decision-making processes
  • Report on and improve the visibility of all the company revenue streams, including cross selling
  • Support the Group Reporting process and ensure accurate reporting to Group and Bank, including challenging the cost base and providing accurate forecasting
  • Work in partnership with Business Partners and CFO to report and improve visibility on performance and targets
  • Reinforce the quality and accuracy of the reports, budgets and reforecast
  • Improve production process and accuracy of the entire FP&A finance function
  • Manage the new implementation of the Financial Dashboard - simplifying the reports for Business Lines and Regional Heads
  • Build on the reputation of FP&A department - through new and innovative ways in supporting the business.
  • Provide regular financial analysis and provide qualitative and quantitative information to determine business units
  • Work in partnership with the wider FP&A function in order to provide accurate / succinct reporting and assist with delivery of the Group annual planning process
  • Drive project decisions and challenge stakeholder assumptions to ensure robust decision making
  • Develop enhanced reporting and analytical tools to improve decision making process
  • Delivery of monthly reporting on performance, identifying key drivers and flagging any underlying opportunities/issues
  • Drive improved transparency and accountability with a robust framework for ongoing analysis

Person Specification


Essential Qualifications

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA Degree or equivalent level
  • Advanced MS Office skills (particularly Excel)

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Strong modelling skills
  • Strong experience in FP&A
  • Have experience in working in a growing organisation and being the bridge between the business and Finance
  • Must be able to interpret financial information and results in the context of operational performance and present in a concise manner
  • Must also be able to articulate complex, often financial, explanations in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Commercially minded and highly analytical problem solver
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Strategic & operational level thinking
