Job Purpose:

To undertake recruitment activities for CFS fostering services in successfully supporting the recruitment new foster carers to meet the increasing need of children and young people being referred. This position will support the fostering service to respond to all fostering enquiries, undertake initial assessments and monitoring of potential applicants. You will take a lead role in supporting the planning and delivering on events in line with the service’s marketing strategy. You will act as the front door to the service.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To undertake promotional activities for the fostering team and liaise closely with the Fostering Service Manager. This will include stalls at public events, staffing fostering information sessions, leafleting, posters and banners distribution and social media updates.

Participate in an effective duty service, responding to email and social media enquiries, answering the telephone, emailing out information packs and ensuring all call back are made to keep in touch with enquirers within agreed timescales set by the manager. Duty tasks will also include liaising with colleagues within your fostering teams to organise appointments for initial visits and maintain the spreadsheet of all enquiries. This will ensure that call backs are made to every enquiry and stay in touch measures are in place to enable contact with anyone who has enquired to the fostering service.

Once you have undertaken the initial fostering visits and completed the report once these have been Q and A by the manager if positive, it will be your duty to send out invitations for further assessment to the applicants. This will ensure that all positive initial assessments are consistent and responded to in a timely manner. Invitations to apply and an application packs will then be sent.

Keeping in touch with prospective applicants and ensuring that their application forms are returned, and they are successfully booked onto the Skills to Foster Course.

To complete DBS checks, verify applicants' documents and complete DBS process as required. To send out and monitor applicants medicals, personal references and other professional and LA checks. Where required other checks may be undertaken under the guidance of the Fostering Service Manager

To complete records of work undertaken and maintain electronic files in accordance with departmental and service policies, procedures, and guidance.

To represent the team and service at meeting and events including meetings with partners and stakeholders.

To demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.

To work as part of a team, attend and contribute to team meetings and service development

To be able to work flexibly in response to service needs including weekends and evenings.
