This Product Manager role is responsible for conception through end of life for a portfolio of products in the Issuing Solutions portfolio for outsourced processing services in our Global Financial Service business (predominantly consumer credit) which includes product management, product development and business development.

  • PRODUCT MANAGEMENT: Track and report on the performance of the fraud product portfolio throughout its lifecycle. Identify and resolve performance issues (such as client dissatisfaction), prioritising as appropriate. Work closely with internal partners (IT, delivery etc.) and external vendors to ensure services are delivered and maintained to agreed service levels, quality and performance standards. Contribute to product strategy and product planning. Prepare and own the product marketing plan, collateral, positioning and branding. Assist with analysis that drives product pricing and bundling. Prepare internal product communication and information

  • PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Manage the development of the product suite using established methodology and systems. Drive fraud product development and enhancements including market analysis and solution and roadmap development. Monitor customers/prospects for awareness of customer needs and perspectives

  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Assist in the development of new business opportunities including identification of appropriate markets, secondary market research and business case development. Assist in managing issues throughout the process including problem identification, root cause analysis, and client communication. Support new business opportunities through RFP submissions and prospect presentations/workshops

Job Specific Responsibilities

The role will require close and frequent collaboration with Global Operations and Technology organisation, other colleagues in the Product Management, regional sales channels and finance organisations to:

  • Develop new products/product features and maintain the Issuing Solutions product roadmap

  • Build and present business cases to support requests for investment

  • Propose product bundling and pricing models

  • Act as the internal customer for approved new product development initiatives in delivery, overseeing and managing projects throughout the development lifecycle

  • Understand and monitor the operating costs and profitability of the products they are responsible for

  • Develop and help deliver on commercialisation and go-to-market plans for new products/enhancements including product sales training (features, benefits, value proposition, pricing model) and marketing collateral

  • Act as the front line reviewer and approver of client requests for new features/product to ensure they align with agreed product priorities and strategy


The role will also require interaction with external parties:

  • Engage with existing third party suppliers to identify and manage opportunities for new products/markets and monitor supplier performance

  • Drive the evaluation of potential new third party suppliers where opportunities are presented which cannot be met with existing assets

  • Present the product roadmap, solution and/or proposition to clients and prospects as required

  • Remain current with developments and trends in both global and regional financial services,  our customers’ needs as well as competitor offerings


Candidate Requirements

  • Product development and management experience 5+ years

  • A deep understanding of consumer credit in International markets (especially the UK, Europe and Middle East) and outsourced processing offerings or the banking IT systems needed to support those needs

  • Experience associated with service/solutions deployment within a Bank, Acquirer, PSP or Software vendor

  • Experience with working with Cloud providers and technology ideal

  • Product management experience in the Financial Services sector in IT products and/or services

  • Demonstrable project management skills

  • Commercial and financial acumen

  • A very strong communicator at various levels, across different functions and in mixed culture/country environments

  • Bachelor degree, ideally in a related field or equivalent work experience

  • Available to travel and work abroad for infrequent, short periods as required

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel projects to deadline in a cross-functional team environment. 

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-20%)

  • Given the international nature of this role, the ability to work outside of standard business hours is required.


Additional Skills

  • Ideally experience working with Fiserv/First Data, FIS or TSYS

  • Client/customer facing experience and expectation management skills

  • Vendor management/procurement experience

  • Technical appreciation and high level understanding of consumer credit and/or payment processing systems
